Monti di Mola (Fabrizio De Andrè): Antonello e Valeria con Francesca e Federico

"Mola" oggi è in costa Smeralda, dove un tempo, prima del turismo di lusso, regnava la tradizione popolare e contadina. In questo brano poco conosciuto, pubblicato nel 1990 nell'album "Le Nuvole", il cantautore genovese e sardo di adozione racconta la storia d’amore impossibile tra un'asina e un bell'uomo. A spiarli sembra esserci una vecchiaccia invidiosa. I due innamorati alla fine della storia non potranno sposarsi, ma solo perché si scopriranno essere cugini di primo grado. Che sia favola o una leggenda, sicuramente è il frutto della fantasia popolare. Il dialetto è di tipo sardo-corso parlato in quella parte di Sardegna, all'insegna del multilinguismo mediterraneo che caratterizza tutto l'album. Grazie alla partecipazione di Federico (voce) e di Francesca (voce e armonica) che ci ha richiesto il brano.

'Mola' today is on the Costa Smeralda (Sardinia), where once, before luxury tourism, folk and peasant traditions reigned. In this little-known song, published in 1990 in the album 'Le Nuvole', the singer-songwriter from Genoa and Sardinian by adoption tells the story of an impossible love affair between a donkey and a handsome man. Spying on them seems to be an envious old woman. The two lovers at the end of the story cannot marry, but only because they turn out to be first cousins. Whether it is a fairy tale or a legend, it is certainly the fruit of popular imagination. The dialect is of the Sardinian-Corsican type, spoken in that part of Sardinia, reflecting the Mediterranean multilingualism that characterises the entire album.
