Our visit to the Monticello Railway Museum! The 401 Steam Train was amazing!

Took a ride on that steam train last year. Very enjoyable. The equipment was nicely restored. One of the coaches had a hole in the floor so you could watch the wheels from the top. Very unique I thought. They have a small gift shop where I had to buy a T-shirt. It's good to spend a few bucks to help support a place like this.

My people, home sweet home back in east-central Illinois. The MRM is a real fine place to take a train ride and see some Illinois rail history. This part of the state has a great lineage to the old railroad days, and trains coming thru the area carried all sorts of freight to the nation. And a good load of passengers as well.

WOW, this place has grown and expanded since my last visit there in 2005.....wow 19 years.

When's the next tornado scheduled -- I ask as I see all those mobile homes that surely must attract them in those neck of the woods! Illinois is not unknown to have tornados.
