My daughter and I stayed here, walked these same streets, last October. We stayed in a charming apt. on Rue Custine and I took a picture of my daughter at that quaint flower shoppe. I even got cough medicine at the pharmacy you show. Oh, thank you! This video is wonderful, sending it to my daughter. Can't wait to return to lovely Montmartre. I collected many chestnuts from Montmartre Cemetery and have them in a bowl under a painting of a Montmartre cafe in my home in Atlanta.

I miss it so much. I stayed right here and walked these same streets. That charming flower shoppe, the quaint cafes, exploring the winding, hilly cobblestoned streets...buying crepes fraise et nutella from street vendors and a fresh baguette from the little boulanger (went to two that you show) excellent video work!

Muchas gracias y felicitaciones.

Montmartre is the sort of place where you walk down four different streets and yet mysteriously pass the same corner three times, without ever figuring out why. But it's great fun!

Thank you so much for sharing this. Very well done. I went there when I was eighteen, which was like seventeen years ago, and it's still a memory I return to often. Every time I think about wandering the streets of Monmartre I get a natural high. This video amplified that effect so, thank you. I also like that you didn't put any music, the background noise made me feel like I was there. Cheers!

Beautifully done! Paris is often described as being a series of small villages, and no part is more "villagey" than Montmartre, especially the area covered in this video. Years ago I had good friends who lived in this part of Montmartre, and as a result I was able to get acquainted with the area and its bistros, cafes and bars, all without a tourist in sight (the gods be praised). Again, terrific job.

I put in the closed captions myself. I figured that would give viewers the option of narration or no narration, and I didn't want any cheesy music or a droning voice interfering with the actual ambient sounds that you hear when you are actually there.

Ah memories! My wife, me,14month old and ~4yr old we're on our two week trip of of a lifetime to Paris and the Loire River Valley in mid-May of 1999. We rented an apartment in the 11th Arrondissement and "did" Paris, pushing our kids all over in our double stroller. We ascended the funicular up to Sacre-Coeur on a beautiful day. Such views, the best of Paris (besides the Eiffel Tower). Could hardly believe we were there! Many human statues that were a dramatic challenge (somewhat scary)to our very young children were working hard not moving at the entrance to the Basilica. We did walk through the adjacent commercialized artist square to experience the energy and atmosphere of what it may have been like back in its heyday. We then walked all the down the steep street to the right passing the famous pink restaurant on the right-hand side corner. Finally spilling out next to the originally restored Metro station across from the iconic windmill lit Moulin Rouge.. The square was full of German tour buses whose passengers were there for the "cultural" assets of the area. Our kids were way too young and sleepy to notice. That was twenty years ago. Glad we were able to visit then and not now. We enjoyed perfect weather the entire two weeks! Thanks Paris, you were a perfect unreal fantasy come to life!

Statistically it rains every other day, although in fact it's more like several days cloudy and rainy, several sunny, then several rainy again, etc. Overcast days are not unusual. It's a temperature climate that changes at lot depending on whether the wind is blowing from the north or south. The overcast days are usually very light overcasts so they are still very bright.

Love the sound of voices echoing off the apartment walls. I was there for two weeks and didn't spend as much time as I should have in Montmartre. The little time I did spend there was way more enjoyable than the crowds and annoying vendors in the tourist spots. Another fantastic video! This time I got a little confused about where we were just a few minutes into the video. At the foot of one of the stairways or streets I was trying to remember if they fixed the funicular that had the accident the summer we were there or if they decided to close it down. Then I remembered we weren't touring Quebec City! You can definitely see the French architecture in the old parts of Quebec City and Montreal and of course the French Quarter in New Orleans!

Oh no, it wasn't the video that confused me - I confused myself! You did a great job, as always. I just forgot it was Paris and not Quebec city for some reason. I like the way you showed spots from the opposite side of the site, Like when you take stairs down to a little park and then you show the view looking back up those same steps from the opposite side of the same park. It not only give you a sense of size, but a better grasp of the neighbourhood - at least imo,
