Lots of change since then, new Champlain bridge, new highway between the bridge and Turcot and new interchange. Only the part after Turcot remain unchanged. Thanks for sharing. It will bring good ( or not) memories in the future :)

That Décarie Freeway reminds me of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway(278) for about a mile in Brooklyn between the Battery Tunnel and Atlantic Avenue... the Trench is a congestion nightmare!

Actually you have the directions all wrong. A-30 is really east-west like American even numbered Interstate designators. So you were traveling east on it. The only part of 30 that is truly north-south is west of the island; that on an Autoroute formerly designated A-540 that still connects A- 20 and A-40 and is now the western terminus of A-30 at the junction of A-30 and retains the east-west designation. You then switched to A-10 west on the cloverleaf as A-10 proceeds predominately east towards Sherbrooke in the opposite direction. When you crossed the 132: that is the point where the A-15 north from the western part of 132 and the A-20 west from eastern part of 132 join A-10 west on the Champlain bridge. 132 shares the designation with 15 west of the bridge to Candiac and it shares with A-20 to the east at the tunnel. The bridge is shared by the three Autoroutes. North of the bridge A-10 west splits to the right(forget the compass) on the Autoroute named the Bonaventure. That part up to Turcot is really A-15 north with A-20 west on it. The autoroute from that point into town is called A-720 or the Ville-Maire aoutoroute that tunnels under the town but will be redesignated rte-136 after the completion of the Turcot work. When you get to the top of Decarie the Met is actually to the right and the Trans Canada or T-Can is to the left. The 15 continues on A-40 to the east for about 3 km where it then proceeds north on the Laurentian Autoroute. So getting around requires a simple knowledge of the basic Autoroutes: 10, 20, 30, 40, 15 and 25 and 35. East-west Autoroutes starting with A-20 joins Toronto-Montreal-via south shore-Quebec city/Maritimes, A-40 joins Ottawa-Montreal via north shore Quebec city, A-10 starts at the downtown to the Champlain and then out east towards Sherbrooke, 1-89 Vermont and I-91 Vermont via A-55. A-30 is the South shore beltway starting west of the island then crossing the river and then crossing A-15 and A-10 bfore joining up with A-20 east of theeast end tunnel. . A-30, A-13, A-15, and A-25 All connect A-20 to A-40 . A-15 connects the laurentians to I-87, New York and A-10, A-35 connects to I-89 Vermont. A-440 and A-640 are Northern beltway that proceeds throu Laval and the North Shore.
