I love Tony's playing and even better on an instrument that is able to produce and express his sensitive articulate playing.

That..................is the best sounding acoustic guitar I have ever heard! And Tony playing......magical!
@musik1025 жыл бұрын
Of course, you aren't really hearing an "acoustic guitar". It's plugged in the sound is "processed". It wouldn't sound the same in your front room.

I hear Greenfield guitars have braces made of dragon heartstring and are glued with unicorn tears.

my god.. greenfield guitars have such a tone that I have never heard before.. every note comes out as clear as a bell. there is almost a magic with the guitars sound. I mean, look at that guitars body. its small! anything that small with tha big sound has to be worth the money.

@@daniel_sinaga1978 I wish this were the case. That is a $30k instrument and Michael Greenfield has about a 5 year wait list to have one of his guitars built. Cheers

Well Sir...You are a wonderful musician and Greenfield I think makes maybe the most beautiful guitars in all ways. They are all special...I would get a Ghost Series I think but ...any one of them is wonderful....I'm working on some Baroque pieces that in some ways have Celtic resonances all over. These are usually designed for Baroque guitars or lutes or theorbo....and i play them on vintage steel but they work very well that way too. Anyway...you sound great and "deserve' what you are holding...sure wish I was...Thanks and congrats on your gift man!

Sure it's a great guitar, but I think the "main guilty" of this extraordinary guitar sound is the touch of Tony Mcmanus.

The Greenfield / McManus combination is acoustic perfection . He’s without doubt one of the finest acoustic guitarists in the world. It just troubles me to see him playing PRS guitars which aren’t even close to Greenfield guitars bit I guess he has to pay the bills.

I can understand the mechanics of fan fretting and how it serves to equalize string tensions but what I don’t get is how that should necessarily equal a better tone overall, I have listened to many and have played a few and thought the higher strings on these sound too small. Maybe I’m just more used to hearing the traditional dreadnought designs and cannot adjust my brain 🤷♂️

I love your playing Tony and have all your CD's. Im curious as to what mic were used. Im getting a greenfield soon and have a Brian Galloup fan fret which is wonderful but Greenfield has something unique to offer and I would love to hear your suggestions on acoustic specs and or pickups that you are using in it. Don't stop playing Tony .... Ever..

Forgive a comparison that is probably unfair given the compressed audio of youtube, but this is rather wonderful in tonal range - but whatever I do I cannot remotely hear this in those PRS Angelus signature models. Paul R. Smith it seems is greedy to dominate guitar making worldwide and is turning our beloved guitarists (such as Tony and Martin Simpson) into salespeople for his ambitions. What we lose is hearing our favourite guitarists playing really fine instruments. Anyway, thankyou Tony for the playing which I love ...
@Pecospup7 жыл бұрын
I guess we hear what we expect to hear. If I compare this piece to Gnossienne No. 1 that he plays on his PRS, I hear so much more harmonic content in the later. His style seems less inhibited and the triples are precise and flowing. I think Tony decided between the two guitars, not PRS.
