Great video! I was in Montserrat just as Covid hit! I really appreciate (and agree) with you honest assessment of the place. 3 weeks solo would be a very long time. You are right, there is not a whole lot to do on the island, but that personally is what I love about the place... It is expensive to see the island as you said... I'd say that money would be better spent renting a car, and exploring ones self! Thanks again for the video, and I can't wait to go back 🇲🇸👍😁

I miss Montserrat so much😭😫. But uh, as I told you some vlogs back, it's very quiet. If you don't have ppl to hang with or premade plans it will be very very boring. Apart from family, my friends were the reason I kept going back and was able to have a good time.

I really enjoyed viewing your video, but I do not agree that Montserrat is boring--but I am biased. I went to M'Rat in July 2022 for only 9 days and I did way more than you in such a short time. It's just a matter of branching out beyond your host. I think, perhaps, you needed more of a plan--especially for 3 weeks! I noticed 'nuff men were checking you out---one of them could've taken you around, for sure--no strings attached! You also make a good point re: the cost of things--that does make exploring hard--so yeah, I could understand the boredom. But I will say, the sun made your skin glow!!! I may have to see your other videos to see if you do a tour of Antigua because I would love more of what life on Antigua is like! Thank you for sharing these videos!

Awwww thank you! I agree that I needed to branch out, I’ve not done a lot of exploring on my own and it’s hard to trust people ya know. But honestly I think I would give Strat another try with some of my girlfriends so we can branch out together and truly get a taste of what the island has to offer.

What did you do in those 9 days?
@w.a.harris45802 жыл бұрын
@@vjvj85 I have to respond by saying my experience was different than the young lady who posted these videos in a number of ways, which enabled me to maximize my 9 days on island. For one, I wasn’t under any COVID restrictions or protocols, which I think allowed for more freedom to do things. Two, I was there to celebrate my mom’s 70th bday, so I had a little party for her- so I was there for a specific purpose- so I guess you could say I brought the fun with me. I live in the U.S. but was born in M’Rat and I hadn’t been there in years, and there were some other family members on island that I hadn’t seen in years, so it was kind of a reunion that allowed us to go liming and visiting, which was the real value for this visit. You cannot replicate that. So when I say, “ I did way more in 9 days than the young lady in this video,” my 9 days were really me re-living my youth-as I am probably older than you and the person who posted this video-so when I said I had fun-it’s the kind of fun that money can’t buy. In the remaining days, we took a full tour of the island and on a different day, we went to the exclusion zone. We spent a good part of a Sunday at the beach, after we went to church-Sunday was the hardest because the whole place seems to shut down-but again, the beach is free so that’s where spent our time. I can’t imagine going to an island and not getting in the water! The place where we stayed had a pool and was surrounded by all kinds of wildlife so one of the days when it rained we walked the property and that was entertaining in and of it self. Mind you, I live in California-so I didn’t go to M’Rat looking for things I can find where I live-I enjoyed the 9 days of eating fresh mangoes, sugar apples, marmie apples, goat water, roti; fresh fish-and many of the things we ate, were as a result of getting out and interacting with the locals! There was a festival while I was on island, Calabash; as well as a few sporting events, so there was plenty to do. Transportation was a bit scare but we managed, but lack of transport will impact what kinds of activities you can do. We also toured the Hilltop museum and watched videos on the volcano and the musical history of the island. Let’s put it this way, no matter how many days you spend in M’Rat-make sure you pack yuh wallet, cause you’re only going to have as much fun as your funds will allow and that’s true no matter where you go! M’Rat has an excellent tourism website-if I were to get the opportunity to return, there are more things I would do on island. It also matters what time of year you go and who you’re there with and who you know-I don’t care what anyone says, M’Rat remains pure/some people want a place to go and cool their brains-M’Rat is that place. 🇲🇸❤️🇲🇸

If is one thing I'll say, they know how to get in your pockets😂. The small things are so expensive! We use to walk go everywhere, so how they wanna be charging 400 something US is ridiculous! Smh...u could literally walk the whole island especially since they only occupy half the island. How did u feel after see the volcano and how much land and houses it took over? My aunt took us to a place where we were able to get such a good view and girl, when I saw it I was so devastated. So many beautiful houses, ect. The ash is so high...🤯. Sad sad.

Yes girl that was really sad to see, especially when I saw photos of over there before it all happened with cruise ships in the harbor etc. it’s just so crazy how nature claimed back that land.
