A great video to show off Falkland Estate. Both the landmarks you featured, were built by local stonemason - my 3rd great-grand uncle, and namesake - George Page. He also built Falkland Parish Church, The Bruce Fountain, and other properties in the village.

Fallen trees with new ones growing out of them is common here in the Rain forests of the Pacific Northwest. Those ruins really show the great Love she had for her husband. When mature, those new plantings around the monument will be nice, but I wonder why the old growth was cut down . Still Life is very challenging but you have captured the details so well. Thanks Rik! I’m sure the new growth will be amazing - although I think they are quite slow growing. The estate is now part of a sustainable forestry operation, so the previous trees were probably cut down for that reason. Although, there are also a lot of trees which did not survive the big storm we had late last year 😢 Sarah x
