My husband who i recently lost most unexpextedly 10 days after his 75th birthday really couldn't believe me as to who did this song. I never put my 2 cents in unless i'm 100% positive. My brother was and my cousin is a DJ. I grew up with music and i have to say..."Go Now" was one of my all time favorites by the Moody Blues. Everyone that takes the time to read this, please have a Blessed day and a happy and joyful holiday. Have a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.

It's sad to read this. I love the Moody Blues. I always loved their 'days of future past' album. The orchestration was done in Belguim. The 'nights in white satin' is a topper in time. I always notice, there must have been a change in the group. In the 'Go now' song they are different as from the 'Future past' album ? Am I right ?

These guys made a terrific debut album, “The Magnificent Moodies,” in 1965, and of course they paved the way for the “classic” Moodies lineup with Justin Hayward and John Lodge that would follow. Let’s raise a toast to the original Moody Blues: Denny Laine, Clint Warwick, Mike Pinder, Ray Thomas, and Graeme Edge. Thank you guys for the wonderful music, including your 1965 debut album. Warning: I'm a ferocious and vicious pit-bull dogmatic bitch about this song I could still recite in my sleep. I love Proco Harem best, but you really can't dance to "Whiter Pale.""still, It's simply stunning,. What's it about? I don't have a clue. But in my rocky-road life, too often I have had to skip the lite Fandango to get through a day. Be that as it may....Is there any more celebratory warning of the impending arrival of The British Invasion to an innocent America than "Go Now" by Denny and the Fritos? Wow! Does it ever get any better? Well. Yes. Land of a Thousand Dances is a big threat to the Go Now standing on the Charts of Life. Who was Denny Laine? I didn't have a clue. No one else did either. He was a blank-canvas lead- singer for a group no one ever heard of. It's destiny would never have been heard of without the machinations of a poor-but-honest black hack from Down-South United States, Bimbo Banks. As intended, it was not composed as a bombastic in-your-face Anthem so much as a soulful emotional entity for his wife to sing as a soulful emotional entity. Her song and her soul were as stated, poor-but-honest, Honest being a key word for Bessie's "Go Now." Bessie did record her song, and was it ever a true Southern Soul tear jerker, from the heart? Brilliance doesn't have to be boisterous. Bessie got robbed of what might have been a crowning achievement in her limited career. Who cares? She was black. Way too many of those southern Foundational songs were too black to be comfortable with; white people must be careful to reign in these people responsible mainly responsible for all this gospel-inflected "colored" music. Too wild for regular People to put up with. Leave it to white foreigners living in foreign ports like Liverpool, England.

Yes, I remember them as a B group too. Funny that I grew up as Larry Banks' and Bessie Banks' neighbor, an hour away, and never realized the Knights in White Satin were that way, you know, a black Soul, band, or even a black- soul band. And I was a Boomer. Imagine that, haha, an ignorant Jim Crow practitioner with Southern Roots not realizing Denny Laine & the Forks were, after all, a fun band you could dance to. I can hear their jungle rhythms right this minute. Off you go, NOW!

I can see why many people are surprised that this is the Moody Blues. Go Now was released in 1965, but by '66, Denny Laine & Clint Warwick had left the band & were replaced by Justin Hayward & John Lodge, which transformed the band & it's sound. The rest as they say, is history...

To me it actually seems like the past, the end of the 50s. It was used as such in the History of Rock n Roll, to say goodbye to the first stage of RnR and start the British Invasion. I always thought it was a Ben King song or some American Act. Wow.

I was listening to the radio and caught the last couple of bars of this song, and it bugged me for hours. All I knew is I hadn't heard whatever the heck it was for a very long time and that it was a long lost "favorite song" from when I was pretty young. In the olden days we had to go to the record store/library to look up song lyrics, but it didn't mean you'd find it, let alone a recording, just that you now know who did it and what they called the ****** thing. One minute's work, and now I've listened to every available recording. This one's my favorite cut.
