If moodys gives ratings to a country or a bond, it can directly affect investment inflow, because the pension funds and certain high grade mutual funds wont be allowed to invest in that particular instrument ie, bond or country, this has a huge impact because penison funds are the biggest source of investment as a large amount of investments are coming from people who are working ie, 70+% of the total workforce have pension fund investments, so these pension funds are allowed to invest only in high grade bonds or countries so that they dont loose any money...but now as moodys has downgraded India, we will loose a lot of Foreign investment firms as they will not be able to diversify in the Indian markets...except, they can divert their investments to a highgrade hedgefund or mutual fund who can directly or indirectly invest in India...but as we know there are multiple investors showing interest in India, we will definately move up the ladder in the upcoming few years

In my opinion when india is showing more than 5% growth for last 29 years better than any eurpean and western country .. still our credit ratings are low ...and I think credit rating is the tool to keep some nations deliberately poor.. why the hell only some handful of nations have so high credit rating despite they are showing negative growth rates for decades ..

CURRENT OPINION ratings only reflect future predictions..which may change in an year or two. Not a big deal unless the future really seems to be dark. And for developed economies 3% growth is decent but for developing economies 5% growth is poor. You need to Understand this first.

@@amanpathak2k I understood everything but in real life poor person needs money to grow him/herself not the rich people .. most of the poor are not considered credit worthy and not sanctioned loans by the financial institutions ... Whereas tendency of getting bankrupt is equally applied on both poor and rich as well( eg vijay Mallya , nirav modi etc).. whereas poor people take loans from relatives and unofficial people at higher interests still they pay it back by working day and night .. I am a mechanical engineer I live between lot of poor people and i have never seen a single poor man skipping payment ..that moment I think that these financial institutions have failed they are not giving the chance for poor people to grow .. I rate at which india gets loans from world bank or other financial institutions is very high as compared to china .. then we always think why china produce such cheap products ..the answer is simple they have access to money and we don't have it..
