Moody Scovillain Sweep

Moody is Scovillain's ability which increases one random stat by two stages and decreases another by one after each turn. This alone can turn Scovillain into a sweeper if you can stall for enough turns.
The setup consists of Orthoworm passing a Substitute to Scovillain, which then allows it to stall by alternating between Protect and Substitute while recovering with Leftovers. Orthoworm has a Sitrus Berry to recover from damage and can Terastallize to Dragon type to avoid Super-Effective hits.
Scovillain can use Tera Blast-Rock instead of Flamethrower to deal with Fire and Dragon types, or Leech Seed instead of Giga Drain for more reliable recovery. Clear Amulet can also be used instead of Leftovers to negate the stat drops. The main counters to this set are Sound moves, Infiltrator Pokemon, multi-hit moves, switch-out moves/Red Card, and bad RNG.

I almost screamed in joy when I saw Scovillain for the first time. Finally a Grass/Fire Pokémon, with Chlorophyll and *Moody* Also, I thought Shed Tail was only learnt by Cyclizar, glad to see it doesn't. Is such a good move, that could boost in viability basically any Pokémon that is gifted with it

@@tomorchard6660 You could argue that Orthworm having a lower speed and more bulk allows it to set up the sub AFTER your opponent attacks. Meaning you could do something like a belly drum safely behind the sub that Cyclizar cant offer.

@@Juan-01 And because of its speed. The same thing inversely applies to Orthworm, which is slow enough to normally use Shed Tail after being hit by an attack. Also it might not have Regenerator, but Earth Eater allows you to switch into an Earthquake from Garchomp or Hippowdown to recover HP and then use Shed Tail, since they can't substantially damage you otherwise, unless the Hippowdown runs a Body Press set

Scovillain actually does follow the same naming convention since it's a pepper plant and spice is measured in Scoville heat units, but it's less obvious.

But the plan here is to tank a hit with orthworm, THEN shed tail, and sweep, so if you were to shed tail with cyclizar, scovillain would take the hit and probably have his sub broken, and regenerator doesnt matter when you only have two pokemon and one of them just helps the other get his win condition done

Moody is a banned Ability, and has been banned since Gen 5, when Bidoof used it to terrorize Ubers. Without Moody, Scovillain is ZU/Untiered.

You can use Roar/Whirlwind/Red Card to force it to switch out, and Infiltrator Pokemon/Sound moves/multi-hit attacks can hit through the Substitute.
