Faith can destroy you. All the faith in the world can’t change lethal poison into medicine. Having faith in the wrong “Jesus” can lead you to your own destruction.
So it’s important that your faith is a true faith, a faith based on the true Jesus-a faith based on specific promises; a faith that understands both law and grace; and a faith that’s growing.
A little bit of faith in the true Jesus is better than absolute confidence in a false Jesus.

PROVERBS 25:27 It is not good to eat much honey: so for men to search their own glory is not glory. The ones who have false faith are not seeking the glory of God. They are seeking their own glory. An example of a person who had false faith is Al Capone. Almost no one could tell the difference between a true believer and Al Capone. He had many people tricked. But, what it came down to in the end was that he wasn't truly seeking the glory of God. All those good deeds he did were only for his own glory. I heard Pastor Lutzer say once, (I can't remember the sermon) that the way you lived is the way you are going to die. What true faith comes down to is what did we do with our time today? Today is the day of salvation. And we can have true faith today! That's the good news! But, we must seek the Lord how to have it. And people don't want to do that because it takes time away from the things they want to do which do not give God the glory. That's the difference between true believers and people who have false faith. They redeemed the time. They took the time out of their day to be holy as God is holy. They spent time before God, shutting out everything else but God. And they put God first. They said, Lord, I will do what ever it takes. Just show me, how to give You the glory today. Help me Lord? I set aside everything for You, O Lord, because the most important thing for me is to give You the glory. Please help me to not contribute anything to Your glory? I come to You now just the way I am, a sinner. I come to receive from You, instruction, wisdom, guidance. Help me O Lord to know how to give You the glory? I see, because You have showed me, that You deserve all the glory. So, what can I do for You, Heavenly Father? I am willing to set aside everything now, for You, for Your glory? Show me what I can do for You, not for my own glory but for Your glory? These are the ones who have true faith. And one of the things I have learned from living in this life is, if we are not careful, there are so many potential interruptions that will happen to try to distract us from spending time with God. But, we can always make time to spend with God, if we truly want to do it and if we ask Him for His help to do it. It's not a matter of if distractions and interruptions will come but when. They will happen. And they are important. But, they are not more important than strengthening our Assurance that we are with God right now, and going to be with our Father forever in His heavenly city, no matter what! True faith comes from God only because true faith gives God the glory. If faith comes from us, it is corrupted. It doesn't come from us. And, if we don't want to give Him the glory, but we seek only to give ourselves the glory, God doesn't give that person faith. Nor does He force them to have faith. But they will learn one way or another. And the best way to teach them that we are not to give ourselves the glory, but only God, is by God sending them to hell. And God is justified in doing that to teach them this lesson. But, I believe God prefers for them to not to go hell. That is why He has preserved His word, and given us sound Bible teaching and preaching like this sermon. He has also given us His Holy Spirit, who if we ask, will give us faith to believe in Jesus as our Savior who shed His blood on the cross for our sins. He took our sins for us, so that we can have His righteousness as a free gift. And receiving the gift of God is not self seeking, because it gives Christ the glory. But it can be self seeking if it is not received with true faith. And that is not true reception. Praise the Lord! To God be the glory!
