MOOER GE 150 vs GE 200 vs GE 250 vs GE 300: sound and technical differences!

Hello everybody, my name is Leo, and with this video we will share a direct comparison between the Mooer GE 150 the Mooer GE 200, the Mooer GE 250 and the Mooer GE 300.
First of all we will hear the 4 units in action with a demo song, then we will compare the features and technical characteristics of the four units with a very detailed comparison chart, then we will ear more sounds, also comparing the units with a real tube amp, and finally I will give you my 2 cents, so I hope you enjoy and please subscribe and hit the bell, it’s gonna help me to make more videos like this…let’s start with the demo song!

Well, Leo, you did it. I just ordered a Mooer GE300Lite. Just yesterday, I would not have thought about buying that unit, but your way of thinking helped me a lot. I do not think it is the absolute best sounding multi-effect as is, but weighing sound, price, connections, footswitch options (I play live), IR sample points, mic placement options and the option to even load profiles (cannot wait to try this feature out and I hope you start selling full profiles for the GE300 series) and the fact that I love my Morley wah, it made the most sense. Thank you!

Maybe cause my headphones, I didn't hear significative differences between the machines. I feel surprised on listening the very hi quality sound of the little one. However I own a GE 200 and with external IR, the sounds improve very much. The default preset are not amazing, in my opinion. But I'm fully satisfied with this machine of mine. Compliments to you for the very clear and honest video. You play very well too!

If you plan to record via the USB port with the GE150 or GE200 on Windows you need to use the universal ASIO4ALL driver which mostly gives a high latency !! The GE250 and GE300 have dedicated ASIO drivers which can be downloaded from the Mooer audio website 😊 Note on the GE150 only the OTG port can be used for recording !! The USB port is only for editing and software updates !!

Hi, I think that the Pleothra is a great pedal that I've also reviewed in my channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJ_Xq4KtYqeogpo I would say that if you also need and amp modeler, the Mooer ge 250 is better. If you just need a multieffect unit compat and light, the X5 is a good option. Thank you for your message!

Hi, I've tried and it seems not possible. I have sent two audio tracks via usb to the GE 300 and recorded the output still via USB, setting the GE 300 in ReAmp mode...basically I've obtained a mess...it seems like both the signal sent to the GE 300 are then mixed and sent to the effect unit...basically the 2 output tracks received from the GE 300 and recorded in the DAW were equal and seems like the sum of the 2 sent tracks. Obviously if someone else knows how to do it or where I'm wrong, please let us know. Thank you once more for your question.

Ciao Leo! Great tune for this demo! May I ask a question about these pedalboards? Let’s say I plug in to a Mac or iPad as an audio interface. I assume I will see the inputs from the pedalboard into my DAW. But what happen with output? Do I have mixes/songs played in the DAW out though pedalboard output or headphone? How could use the pedalboard connected to GarageBand to play along a tune as I do connecting the guitar to my Scarlett 2i2? Thanks in advance if you can reply!

Hi Massimo, you have to ways to use these pedalboards: the first one is to connect the analog out of the pedalboards to the analog inputs of your Scarlett. The other one is to connect both your scarlet and these pedalboards via usb to your computer, setting both of them at 44.1 kHz and if you use a Mac, creating an aggregate divide. So the 300 has a stereo effects loop which means you can have two separate loops go into your board independently? Idk if anyone can answer that but I know the hx stomp has the capability to do this with the dual mono fx loop. So you can have some pedals in a loop in one spot on your chain, then a completely different set in another spot on your chain, or for the purposes of dual routing so one amp has one sound and the other amp has another sound. Can the ge 300 do this as well? Or is it just a regular effects loop that will allow you to incorporate a pedal or chain of pedals but only that single loop?

Hi Jose, thank you for your interesting question. As far as I know, the GE 300 cannot menace two independent and separate signal chain. I use the two separate loops in order to integrate stereo effects in the GE 300 chain (like the Strymon Volante). Obviously, if someone has better info, please let us know. Ciao Luigi, semplificando molto, il sample points è in relazione con quanto a lungo il suono dello speaker viene catturato: con 512 sample point dovresti catturare circa 11ms, mentre con 2048 circa 43ms. Quindi non è esattamente come passare da una MP3 ad un FLAC. Generalmente più a lungo catturi il suono e più info raccogli, ma c'è anche chi dice che con sample point troppo lunghi si catturano anche le early reflection e quindi preferiscono IR più corti. Io di solito preferisco gli IR più prolungati (1024 sample points o 2048), ma non è sempre detto che sia meglio. Grazie per la domanda!

I am an owner of a GE 250 and while the sounds are really good, it has one issue that is a real problem for live situations. If you accidentally hit the two left foot switches at the same time, the unit goes into tuner mode and all sound cuts out. Similarly, if you hit the two right foot switches, the unit goes into looper mode. It would be really, really good to disable these options (as I think you can in the GE 300), but you can't in the GE 250. One other minor problem is that you cannot change any of the LED lights in the GE 250. The manual suggests that there are footswitch settings, but they are not available on the actual unit. I'm hoping Mooer fixes this in a firmware update.

I already ordered my Nux MG 300 but for whatever reason the seller decided to cancel it because it's out of stock. I'm beginning to be impatient and thinking I might buy this Mooer GE 150 since it's cheaper and had a lot of effects. I like Nux MG300 because of its sound. It seems the Nux are out of stock at the moment. Should I go for Mooer GE 150 instead or just wait for the Nux MG 300? any advice?

Hi, it's a pity that the MG 300 is back ordered... the GE 150 is a valid alternative. If you can invest some more money I would suggest you to go with the GE 200 or GE 250, because the offer the possibility to load profiles...and this feature add a lot of value to these devices in my opinion. Hi, actually there are no bass amp inside the box, but with the Mooer GE Labs app or with the Tone capture feature of the GE 300 you can capture a bass amp tone and use it (you can also download amp captured from the Mooer Studio clouds). Thank you for your question!

Hi, thank you for sub and for your interest in my channel! In the demo song of the video you can hear the sound differences (I'm also using a TS 808). All in all, I think that for the price, the quality is pretty good. The ADA converters of the GE 250 and the GE 300 are better and they sound actually better in my opinion, but for the price the GE 150 is a pretty good piece of gear! Thank you for your message!

It’s funny how subjective our opinions could be) I had GE200 after Helix Line6 and was pretty happy with Mooer) after Mooer I got Axe FX XL+ and the difference was drastically obvious - Axe is the way better. After Axe I’ve got Kemper Stage and I believe it sounds more realistically than others. It’s quite hard to listen the difference between processors on KZbin but live the difference is clearly distinguishable.

Ciao, dipende dalla pedaliera, ma ad esempio nelle 300 o nella 250 hai due uscite bilanciate (XLR) con cui puoi collegarti direttamente ad un mixer oppure a casse FRFR (full range flat response). Alternativamente ti colleghi al tuo ampli con il 4 cable method (4CM). Spero ok, ma fammi sapere se ti servono altre info. Grazie del messaggio!

Looper GE200 can 't be used, I 'm tired of writing to support. If the recorded fragment is stopped, it is simply impossible to turn on play at the right moment, because play records are switched on by pedal RELEASE, not by pedal PRESSING. If you hope to press the pedal and let it go at the right moment, then you will simply erase the record as with any other outside loopers, but ABSOLUTELY ALL normal loopers have playback turned on by PRESSING the pedal!
