Proof, if you needed it, that it's ALL about the talent, and not the gear. If this guy used these pedals on an album, nobody would question the tone he's getting. I tried, but I can't say "the Shred Shed" 10 times without messing up. Damn you with your clever name!

Memorable, yes, but makes you sound drunk when you say it. :O) Listening all over again, and if anything, even more impressed. If Mooer haven't given you money for this, then purely out of the kindness of their hearts, they should... you're doing them big favours. If this is a paid-for, then you have earned your money many times over.

Superb video and playing !!! My amp (Roland JC-22) is not really complementing my OD/DS pedals , so I am planning to get one of these preamps, not ony for their amazing leads, but mainly to use their clean channel for my OD/DS pedals. Which one would you recommend for that purpose? Was thinking the Cali 008 one, but I can't hear them live where I live. Any suggestion? (my OD and distortion pedals run the whole range, from light rock to heavy heavy metal). Thanks
@Jamiemccredie6 жыл бұрын
I would go for the U.S classic I think. It’s a good solid Fender Twin sounding preamp, so a nice place to start as a bedrock for your pedals. I’m guessing the reason your overdrive pedals aren’t doing it for you through the Roland is because it’s a solid state amp? OD pedals are designed to run an analogue valve circuit a bit hotter and therefore “overdrive” it into a sweet gain with more harmonic depth. An OD pedal in front of a solid stare amp will usually sound very fizzy and digital, which actually loses signal when it crosses the 0-dB threshold. Amp-wise you’d probably be best getting a low wattage valve amp like a blues junior, and then putting anything you like in front of it. I honestly think these mooer pedals are great though, and superb value for direct recording, altering an amp, or running through a P.A. Good luck finding your vibe! And shout if you need advice etc. j

Hey bud, thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated. Probably the US classic Deluxe for jazz, with a bit of treble & mid rolled off, and either the Regal Tone up high, or the JCM 900 down low for blues. They're quite applicable to more than one genre if you're up for tweaking. Good luck!! J

So I had a look, and it goes, treble - 7, mid - 4, bass - 5. It’s all about the mid scoop. But an important thing about getting that sound is to use 2 reverbs. Use one very short plate reverb, like 250ms then the usual spring reverb. That’s how they did it back in the day... good luck. J
