Man, we live in a wonderful time to play electric guitar and to be able to capture is awesome. Even better is I can just download your captures or anyone's and just rock out. Loved the tones man. For a cheap pedal it sounded great I thought. Great video my man. Be well friend..❤️🤘

I don't know if it sounds better. BUT, considering the quad cortex costs at least 10x more, the Mooer definitely is worth checking out. I bought mine today for $100 from aliexpress...

Gonna recommend this to my friends who usually gig with a pedalboard and back line amps. It’s not really worth springing for an Iridium etc as just a backup but this seems very worth it.

I thinks it sounds fine, but I think Mooer missed a key feature here - MIDI control. The ability to receive PC or CC commands to switch patches would have made it a winner.

Sounds great but I wish Mooer would focus more on adding updates to their flagship models instead of bringing out a whole lot of variations of the same thing. Like this isn’t much different to a Preamp Live. Meanwhile GE300 is still using the same studio software design since the beginning and firmware updates come out on something like an annual basis.

Hey very cool tones there! In spite of tone and/or other modellers preference, this one seems to capture and nail the "right" tone. I just wonder, for live purposes it does have its limits but how it would interact with other equipments such as with effects. For example, Line 6 effects pedal. Sound and connectivity wise, could it work good? I dont see an FX loop to connect to, then to position overdrive and time signal stomps in the right or best chain possible. Could this be an obstacle which diminishes tone and performance? By hearing this pedal here, I can add to my wishlist for a compact/portable and good sounding solution.

Very cool. I had a MOOER GE250 for a while that had capture. Not a bad processor in ways though not a FM3, FM9 or a Helix. When I look at the great modelers that are standard now and if development is left unhindered will only grow into more. I don't think a guitarist needs an amp anymore if they don't want to and love to use many different amp tones. Simply investing in a good FRFR that fits your volume projection needs is a better way to go. That way you can use it with whatever modeler rig you like and when the time comes you want to upgrade, you don't need to change your whole rig. Just plug the new modeler into your FRFR and go. I'm using a ISP FS8 right now with my FM3 and I love the sound I get. And at gigs and practice you just plug it into the PA as you well know Leon. I still have my Mesa Mark V, but I don't need it, if I don't want to lug it.

Yeah high SPL is what most people miss when playing a modeller.
@yanossnicklefritz70642 жыл бұрын
@@LeonTodd I think the days of cranked high watt tube amps are gone. Lots of venues don't want it. People will get used to the changes. But you can still crank up a FRFR. Some of them sound real good. You've reviewed quite a few. But with the current restrictions on Russia, where lots of the tubes come from and potential for world war cutting out the other manufacturing in Europe and China, things may get pretty lean. And people may be forced to use modelers.

If you had an AXE-FX 3 or some ultra boutique amp and said all these sounds were coming from that, I'd have no reason to doubt it. This thing sounds good, I don't even need one and I may pull the trigger today haha..edit...done

@@LeonTodd the metal captures are great, there are tons, but my favorite use so far is an acoustic amp capture by Max Avrusci, i threw a 3 Sigma Martin 45 IR in one of the slots, and now I have an absolutely pristine acoustic sound coming from one pedal that fits in my acoustic case, prior to that I was dragging my whole board around to run IRs off the Stomp

Noob question! I have a Headrush MX5 that I use mainly for effects in the 4 cable method with my amp. What would be the setup if I would use this pedal only in the power amp of my amp, using the HR fx? Guitar to HR input, then HR output to the Mooer input, then the Mooer output to the amp return? Something like that?

Could not understand how you got from iPad ge labs to the x2 till I watched your video (you don’t use studio). One question I do have how can a cab only ir be captured without been coloured by the main amp. I am on the old side so please forgive my ignorance. I notice Celestion sell irs, I am tempted to have a punt to see how they compare to some of my originals in my Marshall cabs from the 70s, 80,s and 90,s though they don’t specify which cab manufacture they used.

Leon, you have varied experience with pedals and multi-effects, in addition to producing excellent tones. You also know the HX STOMP very well. I bought one since your video about the 3.5 update. Can you help me? I wanted your opinion. Is it worth buying this MOOER Preamp x2 and a CAB X2 to use in the FX Loop of the HX Stomp, and thus free up more dsp and effects blocks? Do you really vouch for their quality? I was also thinking between NUX AMP ACADEMY.... but mooer loads the tone captures...

so I use 3 channels live: clean, rhythm and my lead channel. So with this I would need to create a preset with a clean amp + rhythm amp if I need to switch between clean and rhythm live and then switch to another preset where I have my rhythm amp + lead amp if I want to go from rhythm to playing lead. right? Or would it be easier to just live stream while performing and mic the phone? But for the pure a youtube aficionado, stream while performing and have the audience's phones all watching the live stream , thereby elimating the sound system.
