Sounds epic. Thrilled to hear some of our modules conversing with these beasts.

Aside from jack converters, is there any special tricks to getting make noise modules and other eurorack stuff to converse with motm/5U stuff? Also, is there any functionality or quality loss on either side?
@SourceDistributionTV9 жыл бұрын
Cody Safford No they mostly they speak the same voltage 'language', you just need to adapt the 6.35mm to 3.5mm jacks. There is one thing, which is that Moog uses Trig rather than gates, in order to fire off events (like envelope generators, advancing sequencers etc). You can get custom cables made up to convert these to gates (as Eurorack would be able to generate). Doepfer make some!
@nikarga6 жыл бұрын
Hmm..are you sure? the Doepfer cables advertised convert V-Trig to S-Trig indeed but dont have the Cinch Jones ends. How does Max connect Rene to fire the envelopes?

The Moog Model 15 is the best sounding synth ever made. I don't generally ascribe powers to instruments but there's something magical about it...

I’m not qualified to say this, I’ve not played one before, but to me the Moog Model 15 is the richest and best sounding synthesiser I have heard, even if only through youtube

I don't think there can be any doubt about all the hard work and exceptional intellectual and creative power of Wendy Carlos back in the late 60s when she produced her first albums using the Moogs. I still play them often, even today. And if, by any chance Wendy that you read this, may I place a request for Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No 2 and 3?

@feelmytool8 жыл бұрын
Philoupaulo 62 you also have to remember that these are all hand wired components and created as close to the originals as possible. I believe it's about 14 modules and Tolex isn't cheap so probably 650 per module or so which even with high end euro and 5U the price isn't really all that outrageous for what's involved.

Direct Out Audio, thanks but the problem is that the whole clip is patched through the fixed filter bank which has NO setting which is flat EQ. So what we are listening to is audio with a lot of bandpass peaks and cuts.

At 20,000 dollars and up for a complete setup…. seriously, what average musician can afford one? So the next question is who the fuck is buying these?

@@oscarvanderburgh9915I have yet to hear one on any modern day record… although, it would be cool to hear one in modern day music. The one problem is that people are so brainwashed by what the internet “tells them to listen to”, chances are they would automatically reject something that doesn’t sound like the boring, laptop-driven EDM stuff They hear filter sweeps and envelope attacks, and they say some dumb shit like, “ohhh that sound like some boomer shit”
@oscarvanderburgh99152 ай бұрын
@@MyVideos-fm7ug I think the Model 15 sounds fantastic. There is so much raw power to mold... that's something not be found is modern smt synths.
@MyVideos-fm7ug2 ай бұрын
@ oh, I agree completely. And the fact that the model 10 and 15 are everything they’re cracked up to be makes it all the more disheartening that they come at the price that they do. At the same time, from what I understand those are not easy to build at the factory, neither. So the cost of highly skilled labor has to be the largest portion of the cost, especially with Bob no longer around to oversee everything I remember hear that after he died, they soon after began going through all his design files, many of them were extremely difficult to understand. So, they brought in the best electrical engineers they could find, and they began deciphering schematics… and either the SUB 37 is what evolved from that, or it was a project already started, but then hit a dead end after Bob had passed… at least not until they got some people in there to help put production back on track… it was one of those two scenarios
@MyVideos-fm7ug2 ай бұрын
@ but yeah, the closest I’ll ever get to a model 15 is the app. And it IS an awesome app for sure, and one that I believe would make for a great practice tool for anyone planning to buy the actual unit in their time
