Because we have been taught and conditioned that neon melodrama is Life, we have a built-in sufferer by default ... I love the notion he suggests to locate the sufferer and that in fact there are no buttons to be pressed ... we made it all up through indoctrination, Hollywood, identity politics, guilt trips laid on us by churches and education and institutions and groups that cultivate victimhood, shame and guilt. What a beautiful being this man is. His teachings are worth everything to me, along with other mentors who I have found and found me along the way for the past 52 years. I am 77 and thrilled to say I treasure all that each day brings to make me more aware and more grateful, and less lulled by the lure of society and materialism even though I love to play with and create with "stuff". Freedom from conditioning and awe for the mystery of Life is the highest art form for me, and nectar for my everyday life.

Very true, but when dealing w/depression resulting from actual trauma/violence/assault, the topic isn't quite as "light" or laughable. I'm searching for the path, but at times, as Jung said, the ego is also protective. This is where boundaries can become confusing.

What synchronicity listening to this piece for me this morning. I will be meeting with my brother today. I see him about once a year. He has always enjoyed bullying me throughout my life or so it seems to me. I know it must be a deeper resentment. I hero worshipped him until I was in my fifties and realized why I couldn't please him or get the time of day from him. We will be going to dinner where he will talk directly to my husband but will not look or talk to me if history repeats itself. Here is a way to not get wrapped up in that feeling of contempt from him. A single gay man, he grew up in the 60's, I feel compassion for how tough life has been for him. Compassion not rejection. Thank you Mooji, even your name makes me smile.

I have the opposite problem. I've just seen off an old friend who has been holidaying in my home in Asia. He's BPD with NPD and to say basically, simply ignore him, is impossible. He's all fun and laughter one minute (quite literally) and nasty and murderous the very next. I've put up with Mr Hyde for the sake of Dr Jekyll all these years but have come to the end of my rope with it all. I have tried ignoring/silent treatment but it's impossible when you have someone storming about making snide remarks for no reason. He's threatening a return visit in a couple of months. Hey! Mooji! Come around and work your magic on the bastard please. Free room and board :D
@rachelarmel75475 жыл бұрын
@@tamsinthai if this old friend is so obnoxious, why don't you set boundaries and/or stop communicating with him. Don't be such a martyr. Life is too short. I would not put up with that!

Remember that to every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. So after a strong period of meditation and teaching, once you leave that supporting environment, all these strong doubts and reasonings come. Don't be impressed by them at all! That is your ego fighting for it's life! Your ego, mentality, etc. needs doubts, conflict, contradictions to stay alive. If you stay still, centered and confident in the still center with all these waves of reactions coming back, just stay still inside. You have to find it for yourself. We all encourage you to keep sitting, don't be seduced by those dancing daughters of samsara. Just stay still and focused on the center of meditative experience. Dont get involved with it, don't do anything. Just sit with it and stay in your center. What Mooji says here is exactly right. Depend on him.

Step 1 : Let the body feel the negative emotion , let it be , don't appose it , it has come and it will pass , Your body is made to take the emotion, let it be. Step 2 : Know what message it is giving , For ex : You are going to be jobless , you will suffer poverty etc. Step 3 : Try to know to whom does this message is concerned , who is suffering it. Try it..... All the best , You are free only when you k ow you are not the sufferer

The first thing I felt was my mother being the sufferer because of her inability to be a helpful parent...she id gone now . but I'm guessing she had a tough time reconciling her her behavior..the second thing I felt was the suffering that Jesus endured at the hands of predators..that thought haunts me...I will continue to search

Ok, so I was already able to use this. And the sufferer is the girl (me) in the sad story called "my life". You know, the woman that doesn't even exist...... except in the sad story in the head. And the incident wasn't even personal. It actually was just people doing their thing. Somehow the made up sense of personhood made it about itself. This is a GREAT tool. Thanks for uploading. Imma use it a lot. Namaste to you and Mooji Baba.
