The Dodgers won on Opening Day behind the strength of their 'Big 3' on offense, as Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman both homered and the trio combined for six runs scored. It was a fun Opening Day with a new look at how the players were introduced, and all the usual trimmings of the big day. Tyler Glasnow and Ryan Yarbrough were all the Dodgers needed on the mound. Dino needs to learn that when Ohtani hits a ball into the right field corner it’s a triple every time and that he has to send whoever is in front of him. It worked out this game but in a tight game that could be the difference between winning and losing.

No offense, but that sounds like a you problem. I live 661 miles from Dodger Stadium, so when I go to games, sometimes my video quality isn't quite as good because I don't have control over the quality of internet. But if you can't even hear the words being said because of blurry video, maybe just listen to the podcast version or something.

Othani has the right mindset of being aggressive. You put pressure on the defense to make a perfect play to get the out. You downplay this play like "ahh its a blunder for Othani, he forgets he has Freeman behind him" In a playoff game its not guaranteed that Freedie will come through with a hit. You need to score Mookie and have Othani at third base so a sacrifice fly ball scores him. This coaching staff is going to be the demise of the Dodgers. They are too conservative. They need to learn from the Diamondbacks and be aggressive on the basepaths

It's two different discussions. Whether Dino should have sent Mookie or not, Ohtani needs to see that he DIDN'T send him. And it wasn't so much having Freeman behind him as having zero outs AND three good hitters coming up. With no outs, you don't even need a hit, and you have Freeman who batted .370 last year with RISP followed by Smith who batted .3030 with RISP AND led the majors in sac flies. It's conservative, yes, but it will work out almost every time (like it did yesterday). The DBacks didn't beat the Dodgers because of aggressiveness - they beat the Dodgers because the Dodgers didn't hit the ball. In game 3 of 162, I'm fine with taking some time to figure out what we have. I think I'd prefer if Dino had sent Mookie, but I totally understood why he didn't.

@LockedOnDodgers Here's the thing, Othani does look down for a second, but it's because he knows this is a triple so he puts his head down to kick it into gear to go to third. As a player you know that outfielder barely getting the ball has no chance at getting you. It's like an instinct you develop bc you've seen or been in this situation before. Othani, not for one second thought Dino would hold up Betts or that Betts would even listen to Dino. Do you remember last year when Will Smith ignored Dino and scored easily? That's what Othani expected Betts to do. And again, you downplay this play as well it doesnt mean anything, third game of the season, no outs. No. This is where you develop that aggressiveness to take it to your opponent. Which is what the Diamondbacks do! And yes, when a team is punishing you on the basepaths and is putting you on your heels defensively it translates to the offense. Why? Because now you're playing catch up and pressing for hits while your opponents are getting easy runs. If you've really watched the Dodgers, you'll would see that Roberts lacks aggressiveness since he's been in charge. He won't steal bases. He won't manufacture runs. If his players are getting beamed while batting, he won't retaliate. His team has morphed into Roberts, and they can't turn up the aggressiveness once playoffs come. And did you notice Dodgers have no clue why they keep getting bounced from the playoffs? Its because they are too much in their conservative bubble to realize that is whats hurting em!
