Thanks Jim and Harriet…that’s so true! Our local tourism operators have been doing it tough with closed borders, lockdowns and the recent floods. We really enjoyed this and it makes you think doesn’t it? ….that as locals we can have so much fun doing tourist activities too 🤗

@@BethandPaultravel were these areas (Caloundra, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba) affected by the flooding? They still look so perfect 😍. Queensland sure knows how to get the job done ❤️.
@BethandPaultravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Carol 😊 yes they were…but many inland towns like Pomona and Gympie fared much worse. We think most Queenslanders understand we live in a region that can flood and we do what we can to prepare and minimise the impact. As we drive around Sth East Qld, we’re also amazed at how quickly things appear to have returned to normal 😉

Ive just started following you. I've lived in Brissy all my 43 years & I'm always so bored lol. I started thinking I should start viewing Queensland as thought I'm a tourist & started looking for inspo. So glad I found your channel, you do a lot of very accessible things. This outing looked great (and yummy!).

We had to respond to you straight away because as we were preparing dinner right now, we were actually just discussing when and where our next trip would be…..we’ve were talking about Scotland, Spain or going back to Sth East Asia. Good morning Beth & Paul. We're loving your Queensland vlogs, keep them coming. Like you my husband & I retired in 2019 . We're hoping to resume our travels with a visit to Queensland later this year. We are looking to base ourselves for a few weeks on the coast. Noosa has been recommended but is a little out of our budget. We're now looking at Mooloolaba or Calounda and wondered if you could recommend one? Many thanks Jules
@BethandPaultravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Jules 😊 Don't worry, you don't have to stay in Noosa to enjoy everything Noosa has to offer! Your alternative choices - Mooloolaba and Caloundra - are equally great places, so it's difficult for us to choose between the two. We used to live close to Mooloolaba and geographically, it probably has the advantage of being situated around the middle of the Sunshine Coast - so it's quicker to get to Caloundra (South) one way but also Noosa (North) the other way. Make sure you make a trip out to Eumundi market on a Saturday morning....it's a beautiful, tropical town and the market has lots of quality stalls. Also, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and Noosa Hinterland are well worth a visit! We hope you have a wonderful holiday ☀️

lovlley prawns look like prawns john is dribbling wine aswell we get yellow tail .hows the disabled access ?he dosent go any where without his pee pot ,some things shrink as you get older?
@BethandPaultravel2 жыл бұрын
Yes, they were “Mooloolaba Prawns”….superior king prawns that are famous in Australia for being bigger, richer and stronger in colour. They are sourced locally in the ocean off Mooloolaba and taste amazing 🦐😋 The disabled access was good…a ramp on the jetty to the boat and no stairs or steps inside. The interior was very spacious with plenty of room between the tables.

We are planning to come to the Sunshine Coast from the USA next winter (your summer). We want to spend four days and nights (at least) at Mooloolaba. What place do you recommend for us to stay at? We want to be on or near the beach.
@BethandPaultravel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Oswald 🤗 That’s a great question but really difficult to answer….because Mooloolaba has so much accommodation to choose from! The good news is that that there’s something for everyone! We would recommend looking at an online accommodation inventory website….like Booking.com or Agoda or something similar. When you find something you like, you can check the Google reviews or Trip Advisor reviews to help narrow your choices. That’s what we do…..Mooloolaba is flat and very walkable, lots of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants. Mooloolaba beach is a safe place to swim and Mooloolaba Wharf has some amazing dining options. We recently went on a seafood lunch cruise around Mooloolaba and it was great 😊 Don’t forget to walk along the boardwalk to Mooloolaba Spit for the freshest of seafood including famous Mooloolaba Prawns 🍤 We hope you have a wonderful holiday ☀️
