I'm glad Tove was able to relax her rigid standard of keeping her illustration separate from her painting to paint this one, beautiful exception. I see ALL of her graphic productions as ART, &, in a way, this piece unifies her visual oevre. It also reminds me of her illustrations for the covers of her books, which are usually coloured. She's been one of my favourite artists since I was a teen.
