I love it! I've never made a fondant figurine before but I need to make one coming up. How far ahead of time can he be made, and can you place him on the cake ahead of time or need to wait til right before serving? Cake will be covered with SMBC.

Adorable! How did you cover the extra tall lavender one with fondant? Drapping or panelling? It is such a challenge for me!

I just draped it over and prayed to the cake God's lol. It was JUST tall enough that draping it over worked (both the cakes were 4", the tall one had 6 layers) but if it had been any taller I would have tried panelling it. I would be happy to make a video about how I cover tall cakes😊❤️

I didn't this time since I had the wiggle room to let my pieces firm up over the course of a day but you could absolutely use tylose if you needed to!😊❤️🐻

So adorable! But i have a question about the gold luster dust you painted on stars and the cake. I love the color, and looked it up. It is non toxic, for decorative use only; not edible?

Thank you! Yes I've recently just started using this after my go to was discontinued😭. I try to only use it on pieces I know can be easily removed from the cake and would instruct clients on how to do so (take the pieces off, cut it away etc). I'm just very transparent about it before hand so they know their options. It's definitely an extra step for them to remove everything before eating the cake but I've found most are willing to do so since the gold is so pretty. There are definitely other options out there but unfortunately none of them perform the same😔
