For me the saddest characters in Korean Drama are Bidam from Queen Seon Deok and Lee Dae Gil from Chuno. Those characters left me speechless and completely broken for them for weeks. They lead such a sad life and then their end was even worst. At least Wang So got his throne and crown at the end. I don't feel so bad for him.

He deserved better. After spending all his life longing to be loved he finally got Hae Soo. He gave her his all, loved her whole heartedly, protected her always, but she left him in the end and he was left all alone.. Even Soo regretted doing that to him and hence she kept apologizing in the end but all in vain...

However his mother has a bad heart , she wouldn’t love him whatever the poor guy did . At the end , he ended up alone , on this scary , dark and cursed throne that saw all of his brothers die , one by one . Everyone abandoned him at the end .

i can't imagine how hard to live alone like that. wangso who turned to his own self, cold, lonely through out his 26 years of reign without his happy pill, Haesoo and Haesoo who live with the memory of the past, the memory of her loved one who had passed away 1000 years back, someone who now, in her present time, just a person recorded in a history, pictured in a museum. that longing..........(if she remembered about her daughter in Goryeo, damn it, urghh she still suffered even she survived from the actual dead.) the ending might be unsatisfied by most person plus of the flaws of the drama as well, but i accepted it as it is. the reality of life, sometime it just doesnt work out as what we want to be. their love story probably one of the best happen in kdrama that i had watched. LJG acting is superb and probably one of his best in this drama. he is indeed wangso. i guess, a sad ending is what make this drama beautiful. if there is season 2, i'm not against it but i afraid it will destroy the magic of the drama. Their love story might be ended but it will be remembered. :') Thanks for making this vid, it is beautiful.

Great video! Wang So owned this drama from the first minute untill the last one! This moment, when he reveals the scar in the end, one of the strongest moments of drama, it lasts only few seconds, but you can see all the tragic story, all his pain...everytime I see it or remember it, I'm tearing.. Lee Joon Ki was incredible - in all drama, and in this part specially!

It's true! Everyone, including Hae Soo sometimes, were unfair to him.. But you know - I just can't pity him! He is too MAN for this! With everything he 's been through, he always acted like a winner, and that's what making him such a great character! "wang so" is his best character in dramas but he has another iconic role in cinemas "gongill" he was a piece of art in that movie. that movie never would have been same with out lee joon gi as gongill. he is the only actor in korea with two iconic historical characters "wang so" and "gongill".

jane halliwel I knew him before - I watched My Girl and Two weeks before Scarlet Heart. And I liked him there - I even dropped My Girl when I realised he's not gonna make it as a first lead😂 But only Wang So captivated me and made me fell in love with him! And after that I watched all his works except King's man and Hero. And I agree with you with everything that you said☺ No doubt he did great in all those dramas, it's just my personal favorite is Scarlet Heart - maybe because of the script and drama itself - it gave me feelings that none drama before and after did! And I think role of Wang So was most complicated and captivating, then rest of his characters, that's why for me it his best role, but sure he is amazing in everything he does!☺

dea pramita Only the idol actors were criticised. It's true that their acting aren't that good in comparison to Lee Joon Gi and his performance is being set as the bar. In fairness to those idol actors who were criticised, it isn't that they're not good, it is just the bar was just too high. IU was actually good but I just thought she could have done better in those episodes from after the execution of Lady Oh to ep. 17 or 18. She did well in ep 19&20. Kang Hanuel was very consistent in his performance so as Hong Jong Hyun. Nam Jook and Ji Soo were good too esp in the finale episode. The 10th prince did great in his dying scene.

Well said! I think,only the fact,that we are still talking about this drama, is speaking for itself - bad drama with the bad acting just couldn't impress people so much! I don't think, somebody was criticising Lee Joon Gi - it just illogical :) - 99% of attacks were against IU and Baek Hyun, and all the young actors... I won't speak for all, but I think IU did great! Just look at her transformation during the drama! Maybe she is not very emotional, but sometimes that even better, that overacting.. Fact, that she never annoyed me - her character did, but that's another topic:) All the "elder" actors - king, queen etc - were exceptional! Kang Ha Neul and Hong Jong Hyun were excellent! Lee Joon Gi was genius :)

Wang So is the saddest character I have ever encountered in KDramas. Even in the end he wasn't able to find peace and the love he deserved. he was harsh but he had every right to be most of the time. he had been through so much. also, although he forbid his brother to access their mother's deathbed, he delivered the perfect revenge on her and felt loved in the end (although I think he was mistaken about the nature of his mother's gesture as she died). I don't know! Wang So is a character I love and dislike at the same time. it is so confusing...

One of the best and tragic dramas ...with beautiful OSTS 😍 ...Amazing chemistry BTW leads..Both leads loved each other deeply...but I felt FL didn't trust ML in many things unlike ML who trusts her completely which lead to a lot of complications.. I felt so bad for ML many times..ML was almost lonely his entire life ..We can't blame FL s,she thought of him as tyrannical ruler and had doubts about him as per the history she read..But I love the fact she understood him...So much emotions were put upon by Lee Joon gi and IU in their characters...it was amazing 😍

My first Lee Joon Gi drama ❤ I hated Wang So the moment he was introduced but I loved Joon Gi in that same moment 🤭 I know it sounds crazy. If it wasn't for Lee Joon Gi then I might have purely hated the character. I pitied Wang So the most in the series, like how he grew up with lack of love and how he ended up being, again lack of love 😭 He is the most painful character throughout the series(later joined in by Hae Soo). The only thing I loved about him was that, he did not love in half measures 😍(unlike that hypocrite Wook🤬). And as for Lee Joon Gi, I am speechless. The way he portrayed his pain, his conflicts, his love, his anger DAE-BAK! I loved him. No one could have done this better than him. This is a masterpiece of his performance. And another mind blowing peice of Lee Joon Gi is airing nowadays ❤ Flower of Evil ❤ There are merely 5 episodes left and then again we would have to wait for his screen presence 😭😍😭
