It wasn’t the NBA guys who asked for this. It was a discussion with ALL THE PLAYERS. The NBA guys weren’t event present. The previous day, a few players had interactions with the referees that went beyond basketball using offensive words. So, us being progressive, we sat down with the players and heard their opinions. They said they don’t like that defenders are pulling you on drives, pushing with 2 hands, holding you on your shoulder so you can’t move or shoot, fouls on the elbow when shooting, getting under landing space. So, we then met with the refs before hand and expressed the officiating we wanted to see adjusted to try out. They called everything that was requested. This is 100% not the referees doing to call the game this way. Notice everyone on the sidelines was silent throughout the game. This is how they said it should be. It’s different watching it then playing in it. We understand it’s a lot of whistles, but we work to improve every day! We’re legitimizing a platform. If you let the excessive physicality go, then people’s %’s from the field are atrocious and they get BASHED in the comments or people get credit for defensive skill that might not be the case. Players are receiving compensation on performances and winning these games. We’re working everyday to make this more realistic. We’re learning together on The Next Chapter. We hope our fans can be progressive with us as well rather than just comment only when it’s something negative to say. Let’s protect the culture of TNC and be more reasonable, realistic and constructive. Several have mentioned “it’s KZbin let them play”… for TNC, it’s much different. Guys are compensated, professionals and take this very serious. It’s their actual livelihoods. Of course we have our tweaks on rules that favor some entertainment but at the same time, we have to honor the game and it’s integrity in order to reach the next level.

@@jjcometa9333 yeah they need to rework these foul rules. it seems when they changed point format to real basketball they forgot to look at that. giving only 1 ft that even gives the guy fouling a gambling chance for a free turnover, who wouldnt foul on almost every play where you got beaten? rather hack and send them to the line, or check up again since you need to get caught red handed two times in a row for it to even be that chance for 1 measly point. either give the proper amount of free throws and no chance of turnover on missed fts, or have a foul limit in place for automatic 2 shots with possession for EVERY foul after 5 fouls total.

because Moon keeps fouling and reaching the entire time while Friga moves his feet and is clever to not follow through when he goes for the block attempts. it is like watching two completely different games in one. and with the way the rules are set up it ALWAYS favors the player exploiting things on defense, unless the opponent who keeps getting fouled is making the free throws and also hits some shots to mix it up. Friga was pretty much bogged down to the free throw line. And since you need to get fouled TWICE in a row to even get a free throw, it is even further going towards the guy fouling 20+ times lol. these rules suck. they always have. I appreciate that you made adjustments to several things through the seasons but these foul rules need to be reworked to make it more fair, or you will always have things tilted towards people who simply start fouling and hoping that it wears down the opponent.

yeah the rules need to change. it makes zero sense to only award 1 ft when a normal shot gives you the chance for 2 or 3 points. also turnover on a missed ft is plain unfair, and only an idiot would not exploit this and just foul instead of giving up easy buckets. should be normal basketball rules tbh, or keep the rules but once a player goes over 5 fouls total, EVERY foul after that is an automatic 2 shots and ball stays with the guy who got fouled regardless of him making or missing the fts.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I absolutely loved the way this game was reffed. It made both of them play honest defense and if we're being real all those free throws actually hurt Friga in the long run. Great game all around.
