I am trying to find out a more lovely and fresh trio then this Moonchild band, Amber, Max and Andris : no way, they are top of the TOP, and so talented. I'm a mature French-frog living in South of France and who, younger, spent time in Cal, SF first for a bit of study and then LA later in the early 80ties. So to say that I kind of know the atmosphere and the spirit of it. And if this is the a part of the new generation out there, it's a delight. And I'm so delighted.listening as looking at them here that, on the Holiday Season I have bought their records to make gifts to some, and there you find me here delighted again for putting them under the Xmas tree. One is for my friends's kids (8 and 11y.o.), knowing for sure that they going to enjoy it very much, while it's such a great sharing pleasure to find the right gift for so and so one loves. Anyway, I'm spreading Moonchild's music & words and spirit around in my old country, which in fact seems to work out quite well. Cheers you girl and guys Amber, Max and Andris, may Xmas and end of this year be beautiful to you. The music is dope. Her voice is amazing. The flow is beyond desciption. You just feel every element of it. The craziest thing is that the narrative in the video may be the most incredible part of the whole thing. When you listen to the lyrics and watch the narrative unfold you can see how skillful they were at symbolically portraying how this female who could not get access into this guy’s world the way she wanted. Then she finally figured out that she was going about it the wrong way and got the revelation that they were in two different worlds and that instead of trying to figure out how to get into his world she had to be free to be herself and then she was able to get his attention to get him into her world. Then he was free also. A win/win. She came to the store to get something. She had a list/rules to go by. She dropped the list and in the end she was led right to what she wanted all along.

FatBones 4Life I agree with everything except the ending. I took it as a happy ending for her, but a bittersweet one for him. By the time he was in her world, she had left the store completely, and we never truly know if she returns to see if the seeds she planted ever grew. In a sense, she’s moved on happily, and he’s experiencing all that he missed out on. Although I may just be adding bias from a similar personal situation, it just came off that way to me, and that’s how great a piece of art this is; it can mean something different to every person that views/hears it. Great interpretation to an excellent song and visual accompaniment.

Hmm...I had that feeling - they were musicians first. She sounds black (E. Badu) but sometimes I hear little old black (Ella Fitzgerald) in her phrasing as she glides through the notes. They have the neo soul part down pat. Also, Ambers vocals are drawing elements of Sade and many other soul and neo soul voices in that genre. I hope she continues to evolve and fit into the circle she has wandered into because now it appears that SHE has created it. God bless Amber Navran for a very long time.
