Oh...I dont have a trike but I recently built a cargo trailer using one of those trailers you pull kids in...an all aluminum one...20" wheels. I steipped it to frame only and put nice 2x1 wood slat bed on it and lights. I have pulled it 45kph and you can almost forget it is there. I take it on 60km trips regularly into town to do groceries and what not. It uses the same hitch as my camper. I think your trike would be ideal for pulling a little trailer like that.

Luckily never ran outta battery on my bike yet...I dont even have battery meters that do anytbing cause I did 52v battery on 48v controllers. I did the math myself...i timed how long it took to charge my batteries and divided the Wh by the mileage and found approx. 25Wh per KM of range (full throttle no pedalling). Approx. 100km of total range without pedaling. I am scared to run outta battery but if I travel far I always bring a charger. Got new 4A chargers that are smaller than the junk 2A ones that came with the batteries. About 2 to 3 hours and I can charge all my batteries to full since I can charge all 4 of the batteries simultaneously at 4A each. So 16A 58.8V total with all them charging. The chargers were only $17 Canadian each on Ali. I got the battery balancers on Ali, too...40A x 2 at $20 Canadian each.
@AaronHendu
@AaronHendu 3 ай бұрын
Add another battery to your trike...be less than $200 if you spend some time scrolling Ali. Don't use battery balancers with direct drive though...apparently it can damage the balancers with regen voltage. Just a decent kill switch on each battery would work.
@IMBruceECLECTIC

You are smart. I tell people...the more you ride your bike, the more you know it and you don't need battery meters or voltage or anything other than mileage. I have enough miles on all of my bikes and have done mileage tests, that I know now. BUT....knowing how far you can go is paramount to not getting stranded. Carrying Chargers is smart too... I am going to do that the next time I do a long 40+ mile ride....just in case. Thank you for sharing!

Good morning Bruce I got a question for you on your bike rack that you showed what is the maximum width or length if you will of E Bike that you could put on there from center tire back to center tire
@IMBruceECLECTIC
@IMBruceECLECTIC 3 ай бұрын
Hey there...my bike is 72" from end to end. It fits perfectly and it could hold another 2" of length with the center of the tires being on the rack. My tires center to center are 54." The "wheel chocks" on the rack are adjustable for different sizes as is the center bar. The rack now being sold has been upgraded with a better center bar attachment and a loading ramp that attaches to the rack when not being used...very nice. I asked them to send me the new model....since they wanted my Bike Rack video.....they did not. Which was irksome....and I did let them have my Bike Rack video to use on their website....which is my most popular video with 17K+ views.... Let me know if there is anything else you want me to measure. I can even email you detailed photos.

I have the kuat 2.0 which is awesome but both my bikes are around 100 lbs so it starting to get heavy loading the 1st bike… I’m 65 don’t have the power that I used to! 🤫
@IMBruceECLECTIC
@IMBruceECLECTIC 3 ай бұрын
@@TheTcat1000 ...the new version with the ramp would be ideal. I rarely use the ramp that I made....I just muscle them up because I am always rushing to go. I DO take off the batteries if I am traveling longer than 10 miles. BUT if I am not traveling less than that, I load with the batteries and my bikes with racks and batteries are probably 110-120 lbs x 2 and rack handles the weight. I am guessing that I have over 1000 miles on that rack because I have taken it on several 100+ mile trips to PA and throughout MD. MOST times I have only one bike on the rack.
