I love the look of this with the smooth CNC milled body (or appearance) with the clear backing, but something like a FC6, RU6, or RU7 on sale seems like it may be worth the extra $.

Wow! Spot on review, you really nailed this on! Thank you. I'm baffled that moondrop won't transparently inform the power ratings, I presume it would be an important parameter to choose accordingly to user needs. Curious how they would compare to Fiio KA5, you did mention Q11 though. Have a nice one!

No "output impedance" spec, no buy from me and rule of thumb is if you don't see a certain spec then it is atrocious. Almost all dongles are screwed, take a look at various dongles output impedance spec and at Mojo 2.

I just tried Moonriver 2 Ti and Fosi Audio DS1 - while they are vastly different in price - when driving the Austrian Audio Hx60 with it - the Fosi Audio DS1 won by far. The sound was better. For me it felt like I got more detail out of the DS1 than the Moonriver 2 Ti when both had the same volume. I noticed that the Moonriver gives more power, but Fosi will give you the better sound signature. More bass and more goose bump feeling in the mids. This may not be the same for you - since it heavily depends on what you are driving - My Hx60 from Austrian Audio are only 25 Ohms.

i still have two moonriver 2. first one the button on the side fell off and emailed shenzhenaudio and they just asked for a picture from email, they sent me a new one free of charge also didnt have to send the one with the button that fell off. also had my little white stop working within few days of receiving and the sent new one within a week no charge.

I'm looking to buy Focal Celestee High-End Closed-Back Over-Ear Wired Headphones, and was wondering if these Moondrop moonriver 2 ti can be used with them? Ex - plugging my phone into the moondrop moonriver 2 ti and that into my Focal Celestee headphones? I want am amplifier for those headphones to take them on the go or relax in my home. But I'm new to being an audiophile at a high end in depth level. Thanks for any advice you can give me!

A nice update, but I really hate the glass back - I'd rather have a solid unit that's more durable. A real shame because this is one of the most gorgeous dongle DACs I've ever seen. It would have been sooo cool if the underside were milled into river pebbles like a dry riverbed. I know that would add $20 to the price.

How would this compare to the Cayin RU7? My use case involves playing music on bigger pro audio systems as well, the Cayins Line out feature sounds interesting for those applications. Would you have any input regarding this? I'm looking to purchase my first decent DAC, currently using the Shanling UA1.

Question, what does a green light mean on this device? Mine's always showing green. Tried to read the manual but I can't find any info.

not sure if you found out, but it means your device is on high gain. hold both the volume up and volume down for a sec and it will be put in low gain ( at least thats how its done with the moonriver 2 original) low gain is handy if useing low impedance handphones/iem or running low on phone battery

@@feriel1216 I guess the ti version doesn't have low gain but better volume control compared to original. I watched iiwi reviews as was wondering what changed with the dac. Just curious do you use yours with your phone or pc/laptop, I use mine as a mix of both
