tbh if Amu had to end up with anybody, i think it shouldve been Nadeshiko/Nagihiko. While Ikuto is shown to "love Amu no matter what character she has", there is a very gross age gap between him and Amu (im aware this relationship is likely a thing because of the "age gap fantasy", it was written because the creators probably thought young female readers would be more engaged in the franchise if it indulged in their fantasy of dating a "cool older man". im not saying theres anything wrong with young girls having fantasies, but i dont think its okay to normalize *literal elementary schoolers dating someone who's almost graduating from high school* on any level) on the other hand, Tadase doesn't love Amu wholeheartedly. He literally states he only likes her when she's being cute and bubbly, the other "sides" of her are not as appealing to him. He's a kid, obviously, so we can't blame him for projecting onto her when he's so inexperienced with love- but still, its not a good relationship to have with someone who only likes the IDEA of you and not what you really are. Kairi is in the same boat, only liking her mostly because Amulet Clover is cute to him. Kukai isnt much of a romantic option either (hes more than anything like a mentor figure, an older, cool classmate she had a crush on because of his charm and talent, but realized it would never happen since Kukai would never see her that way) Nagi however loves and respects Amu entirely, does NOT have a creepy age gap, is super cool and talented, and they are a genderfluid queen/king. literally wouldve been so awesome to see a magical girl protag end up with a gnc love interest, normalizing these kinds of relationships as well as the idea of being genderfluid in general, but alas. tldr: Nade/Nagi is powerful, too powerful for this show. They did not get the love interest and fan-favoritism they deserved and that will forever be a crime against humanity
