I find it interesting to visualize how it would have been with actor James Mason, he refused the role but he would have been fantastic as Drax... Tom, Belgium.

Very interesting indeed!

I love Lonsdale as Drax. As great as Mason was, director Lewis Gilbert would have directed him in a very similar way to Lonsdale. I'm basing this on Jurgens as Stromberg and Pleasence as Blofeld. Yes, Blofeld is exaggerated, but he was still directed in a way that is almost subdued for a master villain. He is physically and vocally (mostly) unimposing and more creepy (like Stromberg) than dominating.

@@CaminoAir Yes, and Lonsdale himself was exentric, very religious, living like a recluse. His Drax performance was very contained and intelligent, you could see him thinking...

The budget is definately all up there on the screen. It does suffer from trying to appeal to every single section of the potential audience. It is weird though how (when a Bond film isn't made in England) that the sets do have a different 'feel' about them. You'd think that practical materials, lighting and camerawork would make them look the same regardless, but something doesn't quite match the traditional Bond look.

Even with the same production designer, filming in a different country often employs different crews to build the sets which may account for the differences. Just guessing though.

Worst JAMES BOND MOVIE ever! I have seen all of them except CASINO ROYALE.

We watched casino Royale 1967 and its worse. Lol. We also believe the man with the Golden Gun was worse than this movie but that's our opinion.

Hopefully you mean Casino Royale '67?

At least at that time they got butts in seats, i wanna see that ( not ) happen for Indiana Jones - what a woke disaster. Tom, Belgium.

Bond has had his hits and misses. Some enjoyed more than others. Idk anything about the new Indiana Jones movie. I will say that Indy does not work old because he's so much a vicarious character that he can't even not wear the same outfit for 80 years. As if a jacket hat and whip is the sum of his character. So we wanna see him young and daring not old. Even bond has more humanity to work with. That's why the last indy film and this new one won't work. Old indy. Why is it woke? Cause there's a girl in it? Are you from Belgium or Texas? Don't talk like a hateful ignorant American. It's unbecoming of more civilized peoples. I'll have you remember that alien starred a bad ass female, and this new indy girl is just a sidekick.

@@MatthewSilasSedgwick Hello, she is not a sidekick more the lead character according to critics, but yes - probably the biggest problem is Ford's age, it's 20 years too late...chances are gone. Tom, Belgium.

He's not even the main character in his own movie...wow. this movie is gonna be the worst Indiana Jones and that's saying something after Crystal skull

@@MatthewSilasSedgwickHello, I also want to respond to your " hateful ignorant American " comment : i got some unexpected hateful comments on 2 American channels, both exploring and documenting old houses, cemeteries, and big farms, when i pointed out some things that didnt fit their image - about some obvious made up "Myths" - in those videos, and i got attacked by in the comments section with insults , so some Americans take themselves so serious and have no sense of humor at all... Greets, great channel. Tom.

Americans are sadly more often than not hateful and ignorant. It's a potent combination. That's why I said don't act like them. Opinions are great, but labeling something as bad for diversity alone is not. Diversity is actually great. People are angry about Diversity being used as a weapon in media to force agenda and its dividing people and they just look at the base of Diversity as the problem and call it good without any deeper thought. But having a woman or black person in your film doesn't mean it's going to be better or worse. That's all in what they're saying with the product and how they execute it.
