The change in colour has made a massive difference, much better look than either of the v1 or v2. Far more legibility. High specs, good build quality and weight, and an accurate movement. Bargain.

Got my V3 2 days ago and can't stop looking at it. It has a beautiful, well laid out dial. Attractive without looking too busy. I also agree with the white color on the hour, minute, seconds and sub dial hands, attention getting. I think I'll be wearing this awhile. Good review!!

I think this V3 is one of the best Speedy homages you can get today at this price. The white hands and indices complete the look. The few drawbacks are acceptable for the price and value you get. Yes, especially when comparing to a certain overhyped Swiss plastic watch.

I just wish Pagani gave it a more refined bracelet and AR coating. The Speedmaster is probably the most iconic watch ever (I mean, we're talking about Space, not simply diving or climbing a mountain) and this homage should pay better tribute to that, right? @@tddil10 Exactly. Even if it looked the same but didn't have "Omega" anywhere on it, I'm sure far less would have sold and there wouldn't be much hype. They did so many things wrong with that watch, beyond just the plastic. The small seconds is the chrono, it has jump seconds (you can absolutely have a quartz movement without jump seconds). On top of everything else, it can't be fixed and the battery can't be replaced, so once the battery goes, it'll be right twice a day, I suppose.

thats a collection issue. Saw a moonswatch in a beergarden in Rosenheim, Bavaria. Looked quite nice and for 250 € its okay for watch lovers anyway. This watch here looks nice but always have connotated a bit of a fake wannabe image in my eyes. Okay for me hommage watches are okay - but for some people it maybe more smart and charming to buy a watch that does not like as sth "bigger" 😂

Great review, covers all the points! Just got this V3 based on other reviews and was very happily surprised by the quality. I've had other more expensive Pagani's that were okay, but this one is excellent for easily even a hundred dollars more. Bracelet has some sharp edges but don't really notice on wrist where it fits perfectly. No real issues with reflections in full sun. Looks and feels wonderful on wrist in person. Getting lots of wrist time lately. Better in many respects than other watches I have costing 10 to 20 times more. Goes to prove you don't have to pay a lot to get a great watch these days.

What I find amusing about this watch is that the designers obviously had a bit of fun designing it (well, mostly ripping it off anyway). The 1701 is a reference to the USS Enterprise NCC-1701, considered the greatest ship in Star Trek. It's a nod to this watch's inspiration being the Speedmaster, the first watch to make it to the moon. That graphic on the case back is a fun little addition. Those Chinese designers got a little playful.

I bought the gilt v2 (50th anniversary Speedmaster homage), and it is excellent. I even found the bracelet to be very comfortable. FYI, I have a 6.6-6.7 in wrist, and after removing all links and setting the micro-adjust to the smallest to middle setting, the bracelet fits perfectly. I highly recommend this watch if you’re looking for an inexpensive Speedmaster homage.

I just bought this watch and I’m overall happy. The case has a very small ding on the under edge on opening the packaging. it was obviously packed with poor QC attention, but I’m not letting it worry me. The bracelet looks nice but it’s a scratch monster .. so I put the nato strap included on it and it’s a much better feel and fit. I’ll likely put another stainless steel bracelet on it in future. Functions all operate well. Mine arrived with a blue AR sapphire crystal so it’s a bonus, saving me the job of swapping it out. Very legible dial. Comfortable to wear. PD are obviously improving their standards. I wouldn’t mind paying more if they upgrade this one. Nice review AL ! Cheers

Excellent review. This is the first Pagani I'm tempted by. It looks very good. I would definitely put it on the black and grey NATO strap, it really looks fantastic on it. Who wants a pos plastic Moonswatch when you can get this for 3 or 4 times less at retail?

I've got a couple of PD watches...datejust homage, GMT 2 homage and the Hulk subby homage. I'll be honest, the only issues I've had is that the bezel insert is a tiny bit off on the GMT, and crown on the Hulk is a bit clunky. Other than that, no problem and they all keep pretty good time. The datejust is probably my favourite, very classy looking, and the most accurate of the 3. For the money, you can't go wrong xxx

I have a 6.5 inch wrist. Removing all of the removable links and moving to the 2nd micro-adjust hole, I get a nice snug fit. I did have to remove the pins from the end links, which are not marked with arrows, to get it to fit. Edit:. I removed the pins from the small links attached to the clasp, not the end links.

This is actually one of Pagani Design's better offerings. On this particular watch I don't mind the date complication as the date wheel is colour matched. What I'm about to say may border on blasphemy to some but I do prefer the sapphire they've chosen here to that hesalite Omega are using. Of course I know the 1701 reference but I actually didn't pay attention until you pointed it out. I have to say, it is a nice touch! 😄

Took the bracelet off of mine straight away. It's a strap monster. I'm currently rotating between a forest green leather zulu, black sailcloth, and vintage leather racing strap. This watch is a bargain. Pagani could easily charge $50-75 more for it and it would still be worth the price.

Got one of these a couple of months ago and was surprised to find the numbers on the bezel followed the outer sweep and started at 400 after “ Tachymeter” rather than being stepped and starting at 500 , wondered why , also there is a blue tinge to the crystal suggesting AR coating which yours does not have . The only representation of “ my “ version was one for sale on Amazon but no spec as I wondered if the bezel was Safire as it is the same design as version 5 I believe but obviously black/white . Having just rechecked some on sale now on Ali express they do show “ my “ revised bezel and say it comes with AR coating . I’m more than happy with it , it was just that it didn’t look like the picture of the one I clicked on . Maybe I have a newer version 3.5 ?

This is an excellent review, so much so i have just bought one! I did have a real Omega Speedmaster which my wife bought me many years ago. After 12 frustrating years of ownership i sold it and was glad to get rid of it as it was the most unreliable watch ive ever owned. Its pointless having a couple of thousand quid on your wrist if it cant perform its basic function of measuring time accurately. I have however missed its beautiful aesthetics but so glad Pagani Design have this lovely piece on the market as I would never ever buy another Omega

A couple of years ago I bought a new Omega Moon Watch. After a year I sold it, losing about $1,000 in the process - without much regret. The daily winding was a pain, literally. The crown was too small to comfortably wind. Very annoying. I just ordered a Pagani homage and can't wait to get it. The only down side is the absence of the 12 hour register, but in my real world, the date makes up for it.

Could you please show the technique you used to smooth the edges of the bracelet?

There's really not much to it TBH. I just rubbed the edges with a small piece of wood and it reduced the sharpness. Even the edge of a wooden cocktail stick would work. I've kept this watch on the bracelet and even just wearing it smoothes the edges out further, over time. Thanks for watching 👍👍

Who would ever have guessed that in a little over a year later Pagani would release V4 without the 2 iconic dots at 12 o'clock ? Maybe Pagani has trouble with that decision as they still use the "2-dot" image on aliexpress. The bezel does not look as good either as it starts at 400 which leaves enough room for an overly-large "Tachymetre" script. I wish I could turn back time so that I could buy this superior version rather than the V4.

This watch, NCC-1701, err sorry PD-1701 as about as good as it gets when Pagani Design make a homage to the Speedy. But the silver hands were not the only flaw. There also was as blue and white "Snoopy" version with a clear colour mismatch between the dial and the bezel insert. In this case I don't mind the date window.

The 3 o'clock sub-dial is the 24 hour indicator, the one at 6 is the running seconds hand and the 9 o'clock sub-dial is the minute timer for the chrono. Thanks for watching 👍👍

The bracelet is absolutely atrocious, extremely sharp and pulls hairs not comfortable at all but the watch itself is amazing, just put it on a nato or a leather strap and problem solved.

Thanks for watching, I agree that the watch itself is great and it works well with different straps. I'm still wearing mine on the bracelet, mine is only slightly sharp, not sharp enough to be uncomfortable in my case and I've not had a problem with hair pulling.
