One thing you could do is put in cow brushes. Cows really seem to enjoy them and helps them appear cleaner.

Do you ever use rubber foot mats around the main water trough areas, for foot comfort?
@robbybachmann80617 сағат бұрын
The problem with doing it only certain areas is the cows will figure it out very quickly. Then u will get the issue of hoarding. All the cows will only want to stand where the rubber mat is. So best to either leave is all concrete or rubber Matt the whole barn but that gets expensive.

Happy New Year to you, your family & staff from Ontario, Canada! You do a great job showing us your day to day business! You have such a neat & tidy farm, inside & out! I think not having to pay for milk quotas like we do here is a great benefit! It is obvious you put your cows welfare as #1! You asked for questions: Does your Dad have specific jobs with the farm? How many Litres of milk is the average per cow per day? Is the same cow milked 2x or 3x per day? Do you have a bit of video of your trip in Netherlands? Do you sell beef or milk at your sister's creamery? How many days old is the milk on the grocery store shelf (from time the cow was milked)? Hope you don't mind the questions. Thank you!

How do you determine which heifers and cows to keep in the herd and which ones to cull. I believe would be a good video.

You could touch on breeding beef vs dairy. Do you say breed all heifers dairy for faster genetic improvement and some top cows and the rest beef? What % of cows/heifers breed beef vs dairy?

Great video Piet, you might laugh but in my day if you had a cow that gave 50 pounds a day you had a good one.

It seems to me that you have more cows in in pen than beds. Is that true?
