“Possibly because they were reluctant to challenge the authority of an officer” . This is why Marine schools should not force authority on their students but practice Humbleness and Respect. In our school, our Retired Marine Officers/Professors are so old we are comfortable in correcting them, and they are fine with it.

It might still be prevented by only using the printer, lift or drawer under great care and the attentive supervision of an office master.

It turns out that his office has adopted all that strict eco-measure things; so no printing. Besides, he works at a flexible office space; so no drawers. Oh yeah, the office is situated in a 1-storeyed building; so the obvious.
