omg I loved this so much, honestly, as an acapulqueña that lives outside of Mexico, every Christmas time we also stay either at my grandma's house or my uncle's place which is gated and in a tourist area with lots of military enforcement. In previous years I was not allowed to go anywhere and my parents would only let me go places with family members they trusted. Now that I'm older I'm able to go out with my cousins and experience Acapulco more, I recommend going into the city but only staying around the Costera area, try not to go up the mountain and into the neighbourhoods that are not close to the tourist areas. I recommend you visit the local restaurants and beaches in the Costera or even rent a yacht, it's such a beautiful experience :) I'm so glad you are able to enjoy Acapulco

I live in Mexico and last time I was in Acapulco was almost 10 years ago it’s become so dangerous, but the rest of mexico is so nice and the food and the people are amazing all over the country
