Can't believe I never heard of this guy. I think the problem is that you never hear great music on the radio any more. Well.... he's got himself a new fan!

+Dave Lambert Thanks Dave.....I'll check that out. Years ago, I had a subscription to a magazine called Blues Review. Don't know if it's still around. Hey... I have a story that you may find pretty cool. Back in the early 90's I used to hang out at a place called Johnny D's. Every Sunday afternoon they had a blues jam where people would come in and play with the house band. Well.... this girl gets up on stage and blew everyone away. Later, she was sitting at the bar eating a salad, and walked up and asked her for her autograph. She said why do you want my autograph? I'm not famous. I told her that she wasn't famous yet, but one day she will be. She gave me her autograph on a napkin that says " Keep the blues alive, Susan Tedeschi"

+Ray Simmons Great story Ray. You never know who will become what later in life. It's good to respect all....Ray, where are you from and where is Johnny D's? Say hello to John "Blueshammer" Hammer for me if you get to Blue Monday on Facebook. Talk soon...

I'm originally from Cambridge, Mass. Johnny D's was in Somerville which was the next town over. I think they're gone now. Too bad. But I think there's still a House of Blues in Cambridge. I know Ronnie Earl used to play there a lot. I think he was from the area.

Luther was a great bluesman. The first time I heard Luther in 1994. Bernard deserves glory of his father.

Hey thanks for posting this terrific set! I had to sub after the algorithm sent it to me. For all you folks discovering Bernard for the first time here--be sure to follow up with the senior Allison, Bernard's late dad, Luther. Great stuff.
