Part 2? Just found this. I have 3 sets of 906's, just getting into learning to port. Have the templates, also. Kinda tough finding a lot of info on porting iron heads, and would love to see how you go about porting them! All of it, methodology, tools, tricks, and especially what NOT to do! Thanks!

Before the interweb I a set of ported 452 heads and was very conservative and when I bought the Direct Connection porting templates that was great. I have done 915 closed chamber heads using those templates. That gave me the ideas about where to grind on other heads too.

I can’t wait to see the next part of this series. I have a set of 906 heads I am working on right now and have done some porting on a single port. The ssr seems to be the secret to these heads. Seeing how far you lean back the ssr will be a good visual of what I need to do.

Ya, back in the day you could pick up a set of porting templates from Mopar Performance and add 2.19” intact and 1.81” undercut valves. Go for 9.5-1 static compression, add a MP .509/292 hydraulic cam, install a windage tray if the engine didn’t have one and block off the carb heat crossover in the heads. Top it off with a Holley Street Dominator intake and 0-3310 Holley 750, 1 3/4” headers with Mopars recommended tube length and pay attention to detail when setting bearing clearances and you’ve got 521 hp under your right foot!

Awesome video man. Any interest in doing a 516 comparison? Everyone I've talked to tells me they're boat anchors and mostly useless....

One of these days...... I'll dig out a 906 and test on my Superflow SF750 Bench just for sh*ts & giggles..... if you send me your email maybe we can compare some numbers ? I mean what else are old guys like me gonna do ?

Fwiw I checked and my bench is 6.3 cfm less than everyone else's so far. It might be a slight to the 906 as cast.... but the before and after I think is what's important.

@@1WILDsMoPARtech Before and after is always THE single most important factor.... very simply because all anyone should want to do is monitor if going in the right direction.... see what the Port likes or conversely don't like or care ? I only offered a comparative Flow analysis as we run some pretty sophisticated software(true wave not a fill & dump) that from exhibited Flow/Velocities/etc/etc allows us to be typically within 5 hp and 10 Ft/Lbs once we Dyno the final product... which, we Dyno everything before it leaves ?

@@dirtlump Absolutely. That's great and I'd like find out more of what you do. Lets talk/message in the near future. Thanks for watching.. I'm pretty happy people are taking an interest in this.
