This video was a lifesaver. Got a bare transmission from CRT with a bunch of this stuff in a bag. Had no idea where anything was supposed to go.

Thanks for this video, you give details on heaps of things I personally needed to know... Everyone should know where the partial vin is on their transmission some shops are known to swap them out. As well as you have good life advice you have in regards to stress haha! This videos good value

Ive heard the 727 lever is park when its clicked towards the rear of car and in low 1st gear when clicked towards the engine bay, your saying the 904 is the opposite?

Tyler, do you know if its possible to bolt the tail section ( overdrive unit) from a a500 transmission to an a904 transmission?
@packingten4 жыл бұрын
The output shaft on 904 will NOT go into the 500, the A-500 has an intermediate shaft you would have ALL kinds of problems!!!!!!!.

Can you tell me something about the output shaft I have a 42re and the output shaft has .142" inch of play with a digital calipers not the round dial type that's recommended would the readings still be the same and is that within spec.

I think my transmission has a bad output shaft seal but I'm not sure, I tried using trans x but it didn't stop the transmission fluid from leaking

Don't use additives, they turn the rubber seals into mush.

Tyler 35+ years transmission builder,I have seen people with a simple rear seal leak totallly ruin their transmissions many many times!, Mush is a good comparason!,It totally ruins ALL RUBBER GOODS INSIDE UNIT,Another one "Trans medic"....These should be OUTLAWED!!.

wow great and best torque flight tranny item tutorial and important info thanks so much.i had a question,,when you take out the safety switch,does fluid come out?if so how much fluid..because i am having a problem on my 69 satellite convertible sometimes i go to turn the key and nothing,on the mopar forums they told me to maybe change the safety switch,so i just wanted a heads up of how much tranny fluid wil come out..thanks for the vid.
@TylersNeighborhoodGarage8 жыл бұрын
Yes, you'll lose some fluid. A good idea to minimize that is lift the car up on the driver side(left) as high as you are comfortable with and support it securely. Next time you have a starting issue, try it with the selector in neutral, or push up on the gear shift in park.

thanks for replying,,yes i found the problem,it was the battery leads and terminals ,they were dark dirty gray,,dirty just enough that it would not get enough volts,,cleaned up now. starts all the time now,.thanks again.
