Cracking job. I felt your pain when that tiny bearing fell out. 😅

Cheers Jon. That's the thing with old switches... you don't know how they work until they're apart 😁😁😁

Geo! Well done! A neck buster! You're a veteran of the Tilt Telescopic! The standard C Body steering columns have the switch up at top as you are no doubt familiar with. My Newport, with 43K miles, sat in storage for 29 years. My switch (standard column) had bad contacts. I just replaced it with a repop rather than an NOS. The NOS is just more old plastic. Your hassle is the alignment. I think both jobs are sucky! Well done sir!

Thanks LB. It sure was a neck buster that's for sure!! 😁😁 I never realised at 1st that the switch was down the bottom on the tiltascope columns, I thought I was going to have to dismantle the top end as usual, but we got there in the end 😁 So long as the video helps people out then I'm happy 😊 Thanks for watching and leaving a comment I appreciate it 🤘🏻😎 Dont forget to subscribe 😃 😉 Thanks, SGG 👍🏻

@@SortedGeorgeGarage Geo! It was outstanding! As many of those as i have been around, I never had to do that on a Cbody. I had a '70 Caddy that had a similar arrangement. You do well sir! The '66s and the '65s I think were the best built of the bunch! Keep up the good work!

@@SortedGeorgeGarage And George! Not all is one way you know! I saw you subbed to my dusty channel. Thank you! We treat the UK cars with as much reverence as possible. I'm about to go back and spend more time with my buddy's Alpine now that the weather has changed and get it ready to shoot the Alpine A 100 blue! kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXiQp5WeZcqqbZY and kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpDEhKetadt4hKs As they say in the land of Fix it again Tony, Ciao my friend! 🙂

I'm 1:30 mins in to this video and my guess is a broken plastic clip or "spring" arm. The plastic in the indicator assembly got fairly brittle in my 65 Dodge Coronet convertible and it's been a manual off/on for 2 decades now. In the world of JB Weld and 3-D printing, I'm hoping to one day repair it.

Romeo, that's where my thoughts were headed too, either a cracked or broken cam, or loose connection. 🤣🤣🤣 It's been a manual off/on for 2 decades 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah I know the feeling.. been there in the past my friend 😁👍🏻

Cheers dude. We got there in the end. My head was a bit twisted up underneath there for a while but it's finally straightened out now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
