I've commented above why I believe she faced criticism for this despite this being an objectively superior writing and performance. It's more related to the expectations of a male audience that sometimes is incapable of appreciating/accomodating this change of flavour. Ikka actually did understand it, that's why I respect that man for his flexibility and humility (he admitted that Uday wrote a better song than even he could). He actually understood the beauty of this one, that's why even went as far as to take a stand for it and arge with Dino. Dino is also a good human being, but he's just inside this box of male-centric expectations of Flex-Violent-Rage-Romeo rap stuff that's prevalent. He just couldn't expand his appreciation for an alternative perspective; and that goes against the ethos of representation, which Hustle claims to have... Unfortunately. But I'm glad Ikka took a stand for this, because this absolutely deserves respect.

Judges keep on saying that this song is the best in the season that song is best in the season however fail to recognise the gem this is! Equally hooking to audience's ears like King's Badnaam Raja! Huge respect for EPR for taking her side and Dee for appreciating this beauty! Ikka is also such a down to earth human being, placed the point as an argument in such a manner that it is pleasing to the ears while respecting the participant's thought process!

The fact that she had to face criticism for this shows how there is a dire lack of feminine touch in DHH. The lyrics were actually pretty good with intricate rhyming and visual metaphors. The only thing is, it's a bit different from the generic, gang-crime-flex or romeo rap stuff that we've come to expect from male performers. This was beautiful, and beautifully different/unique. This is true representation of Indian Culture in Hip-Hop and not the borrowing of African-American trends and trying to localise it (like MC Stan does. No hate to him, I'm just pointing out the difference.) This one take the opposite approach, and I believe only a talented, bold, and confident female artist like Mrunal could have done something like this. She's done Ameeri too, trying to fit in with the cliché; but this is a step in a better direction for her to not only solidify her identity in the rap scene; but more importantly to create the identity of a much required feminine perspective in this industry dominated by male preferences towards aggressive writing, flex-rap and egocentricity.
