MOR104 - Morphological Processes

In this tandem E-Lecture, Prof. Dr. Birte Bös and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Handke discuss the main morphological processes, the two principal ones being inflection and word-formation, and in turn derivation, and compounding. Other processes are not considered in this video. All major processes are exemplified using examples from Present-Day English and other languages.

04:12 Are you sure about that? :q Isn't it that "applicable" comes from "application" by replacing "-ation" with "-able" or something in these lines? In Latin it's "ad+plicare" / "ad+plico". So the original stem contains the "k" sound. It has been dropped in French and in that version came to English to make the "apply" word.
