There has to be one especially for Murderers. A person who attacks a church or any other place killing 100 innocent woman and children shouldn't get life in prison, they should get death penalty.

@all: He is looking at Islam through Western prism. His problems lies in his yard stick. What is focus are the themes that are commercialized by corporate media and he is simple a victim of him. What he is talking about abuse of the capital punishment. But the fact of matter is he is talking about changing the classical principles. For example if I am teacher does not how to teach then it does not mean that we have to ban teaching. When it comes to chopping the hand, We have example of the reign of Umar (May Allah be pleased with him), the second caliph of Islam when he did not punish people because of reasons ( The Biography of 'Umar, page 134-5 by Dr. Sallaabee) Part two continue.

...Umar had valid reasons. What in reality he is talking about is the reinterpretation of Islam. How Christian and Jews were able to reinterpret their books and ultimate refered "son" as literal son. Secondly, his logical arguments are defenseless and problematic. For example, If I will take some young ladies to Maternity Ward and show them how a woman suffers while giving birth. Can I advise them not to get married and not to be mothers because they have to go through labor pain.

i am for the idea of discussing this issue amongst the scholars in an open debate where the people can judge for themselves the rationale and the logic of the ideologies presented... But to be honest, how many countries have this issue? and the same westerners who point at us are dealing in billions of dollars with those very same countries!! hypocrites all across the board. this is aakhiru zamaan, the end of times...

All muslims worthy of the title are concerned with justice around the world. However corrupt leaders make decisions, and according to the hadith, a corrupt leader is only the reflexion of the people. Rassululah SAW warned us all against injustice if u remember the hadith about the noble lady who stole and some sahaba suggested to show liniency to her cuz of her lineage, and Rassululah SAW said that even if my daughter stole i'd cut her hand. Today the rich does what they want wit no acctability
