That's correct. it's a very long new gas pipeline. The logistics of getting the chips out being that trucks cannot get within several miles of most of the work is not practical. Also the environmental regulations stated that the carbon had to stay with the forest. Part of the responsible logging rules and regulations. We found out many years ago in the industry that taking too much carbon from the forest can cause damage that takes decades to correct. They used to strip mine areas and then try and plant trees back, but they wouldn't grow. The carbon was gone and had to replenish the soil with other plant life first. Trees need it to be healthy.

Why don't they make the with a varible speed feeder so the machine can handle a continuous flow of logs vs branch's???

What a waste of wood, time, fuel, machinery, etc. to just blow the chips on the ground. Pure waste.

+Rain Coast I'm sorry you think that. I'm think that this company was contracted to clear a path for a new logging road. I'm sure if they found a way to find people that wanted it and would take it in a timely manner for a better price, they would.

Clayton Burlew That would be better. At least the discarded chips add to the forest floor compost.
