I have the same question but for the worlds the space marines call home. Do chapter worlds produce soldiered for the militarum bc most of those worlds are brutal death worlds. Perfect places to produce regiments

@@Sterben_knight so usually no, they’ll have their own PDF, but chapters are EXTREMELY possessive of their recruiting worlds. They’re almost sacred to the chapters, as the represent both the future heroes of the chapter and for others, (those who’s chapters originated from their recruitment world like the Blood Angels) their past and connection to their primarch. Allowing anyone outside the chapter to do what they want, especially demand soldiers, would be like ordering the chapter itself. The only exemption I can think of is the Ultramar system, but they more have their own human military force so chances are they don’t.

I dunno if you read the lore but these guys once broke a siege through marksmanship alone. Daemons, cultists, and space Marines alike were blasted to pieces with standard lasgun shots. A sniper hiding in a building won't survive these dudes, most of the chaos casualties in the Siege of mordia was from headshots. It's a regiment of Snipers and marksmen. Only the NCO's are their real impediment for their true fire power.

Fun Fact: there was a real life Iron Guard in Romania, this Iron Guard were far right fascist troops who were participating in war crimes. At some time WH40k fans thought that the Romanian Iron Guard served as an example for the Mordian Iron Guard.

They do use stealth for their grenadiers who go ahead to disrupt the enemy before the squares arrive. And their uniforms have flak and carapace armor sewn into them. Behind each squad is a Leman Russ and they have companies of superheavy tanks and numerous other vehicles. If anything, despite their reputation, they’re more like a hybrid of artillery and mechanized regiments than infantry.

The Iron Guard are some of the best there is at warfare on open battlefields. They're not as fast as the Steel Legion, lack the brutality of the Chem Dogs, and would never be able to build fortifications to the standards of the Death Korps, but in pitched battle they will fuck you up.

It's been pointed out that Mordians fire volleys in rank formations, like old blackpowder soldiers, but are using lasguns which are usually automatic or semi-auto- so a rank of Mordians must just be putting down INSANE amounts of firepower, basically an unending stream of las-shot. That's a dangerous formation, but on the bright side nobody will be left to fire back.

The mordian iron guard come from a hive world that is locked in constant gang warfare and rebellion, there uniforms are there to break the gang mentality and create unity amongst themselves. Also there home-world Mordian is tidally locked so it doesn’t spin so most live near the dark side and is so depressing that suicide keeps a good amount of the population in check. I also believe that they are inspired by the French Foreign Legion. They also follow there orders to the letter and many see them as pompous due to there uniforms but they will still gut with no hesitation if told to.

I am new to 40k and want to build a guard army. Do different types of guards have different stats and weapons? I see on GW site for the guard and they only have cadian shock troops and the jungle guards.

I'm not an expert but from what I see in the codex, Cadians are quite versatiles ; the Mordians have very good morale and have bonuses when the squads form lines ; Tallarn are very effective for movement, arbustes and guerilla warfare even with tanks ; Armageddon has very good weapons and is efficient with their armored transport and lasguns so efficient in Blitzkrieg tactics ; Valhallans are very effective with the tactics of human waves (by exemple they can resurrect infantry squads to simulate reinforcements) ; Catachans have bonuses with their officers and in close combat ; Vostroyans have more range with their infantry and heavy weapons. If Games Workshop only sells Cadians catachans and kriegsmen, you can buy used figurines or go on other sites, by exemple victoria miniatures has figurines that can replace Mordians (named "Tannenberg fusiliers") Tallarns (named "desert scorpions") or Valhallans (named "Svargan shock soldats")

In the lore, they're likely to be assigned as MP's if ever the commander caught wind of their deployment. It's not usual to see them as shock troopers since they're a bunch of marksmen and snipers crammed into regiments. Not to mention, they aren't usually recruited from the usual citizen. Their washouts become citizens. Mordia treats it's loyal soldiers well and badly those who rises against it.

Iron Guard Guardsmen and their families are in a higher social standing and therefore have better living conditions than the rabble, so they have a vested interest in putting rebellion down and keeping the status quo. The former police force wasn’t efficient enough so the Iron Guard took over the role, so they must be doing something right.

That would depend on the regiment armoured or artillery the Mordians are far superior, they are trained to push there body to the absolute limit. They all also have the perk of being stone cold killers the moment they leave there planet. Krieg lack that while zealous and definitely trained. And finally the Mordians are actively more trained the krieg have there own elite group of soldier there version of a storm trooper but krieg, from the planet Mordia they are the elite each soldier Is a expert marksmen and swordsmen to boot.
