6:38 Here I think what they mean is that you would be able to choose when you create a battle when and how the gold box will be dropped - either the gold box to be randomly dropped with a drop zone (similar to how it currently is) OR depending on the Battle Fund on 700, 1400, 2100, 2800 battle fund without a drop zone indicator like we had it from 2010 to 2012, before the rebalance, the new graphics and the random golds.

In fact, developers are still guessing *everything* about golds - how they're gonna land, with or without landmarks, on which battle fund, with or without the alarm, etc. But some of the properties are obvious imo, we need a Classic with Classic experience, with some additions. I still believe they'll bring more options/check boxes to operate before starting the battle. Let's see how they're gonna do it with their vision, but devs are definitely listening and taking notes.

Opex also mentioned it will not be based on any year. Because first: at developer's perspective which version of the year community wants. And yes, balancing, adding new things etc is also considered update. Second: for very old players the best time was 2009-2012. For others it's 2015, and for other it's the current version of Tanki. So that's why there's no ideal version of the game

Devs can't considerate specific year for development, all players are different and many people precise different versions, mostly by when they started playing the game - that would be the best year of Tanki to play for most of the community. The most optimal decision devs can take, and they're taking it for Tanki Classic - to combine every great update and content (misc) they've had for community that the greater of all people have liked, including players suggestions from comments around social medias, into one project - that's why it's eligible to say that is a Remastered project. So I have lots of hope for this one

@@fruituproot I joined all the way back in 2010, and I never liked the post-rebalance graphic (so much to the point that I quit in 2013), for me the old graphic and the golds at 700, 1400, 2100, etc. battle fund were perfection. If they don't bring the old graphic back that's a deal breaker for me and I'll just stick with normal Tanki since they are Legacy skins at least there.

I feel like 4 protections against guns adds some complexity to the game to keep it interesting, while also making buying it relatively cheap compared to the current protection system in tanki. Regardless of what they do i am excited for tanki classic though

I think it's not about a simplicity, but about a balance in game. It was more or less playable, as nothing was on a paywall, so usually people who just buy everything are not as powerful and can be outplayed. Now it's just a ripoff. I used to play from 2014 to 2021, checked the game now and it's just unplayable, idk

They also have the opportunity to make this version in a different programming language, instead of HTML and Action Script (i guess they still use it), they could make it using C/C++ and OpenGL/Vulkan. Will increase the performance of the game, and as it will use less resources than a scripting language, they have more room to add more stuff.

I was watching that 3h interview fully cuz I know the language and as much as I understood, Hazel was talking about it and he really meant for those features or even more to happen in classic. It's just a simple guess but in my opinion it's a great option to have control of, since Tanki Classic theoretically is a Remaster thing that gonna bring all the great features and right decisions that have been made throughout the years in Tanki and put them all into one Tanki Classic, based of players's wishes and devs's vision. We just need to believe, we'll look at it at release.

The real question is what are their motives for reverting back to an older version. As for being "hyped" LOL, maybe if I was a 10 year old. Quick edit. You mentioned they don't want to monetize the old version to much, that's because if they do it will go bust in a few weeks. THE biggest problem with TO is the zillions of updates they bring out and the sky high prices they want for anything and everything, their greed will be their downfall.

As Hazel has said once in that interview, it's actually shocking how players are buying all that with such prices. But usually, they create stuff with "sky high prices" as monetization and to see if players will buy it, and they do most of the time (according to interview video).

Greed is what destroyed the current Tanki. I understand they need money to survive but they need to do it ways that don't destroy game play for the much needed non-buyers. If things are a little more fair some will decide to buy to help support the game (I did in the 2013 -2017 era), but very few are willing support a purely P2W game just for some fun.

I suffered more in Tanki Classic than in the current one, in fact my kd was lower. So it doesn't matter to me, but it seems that a lot of people like Tanki Classic. If it's just hype, they'll leave the game anyway, but otherwise what I achieved in the current Tanki is at risk 🥶

I haven't even LOOKED in the direction of Tanki Online for the last decade. Since whenever it changed to the awful P2W model and everyone drugged constantly drugged their tanks and the graphics got way better but they introduced the stupid new guns or whatever. If we actually got an actual, real, classic Tanki back, I would come back.

I hope Hazel has learned to listen to what the players tell him. That was the problem back in 2016-17. The devs didn't listen and the game went down hill fast. They need to figure out a way to keep the balance between the non buyers and buyers more fair or equal. The game needs both but when TO became a purely P2W game, non buyers and occasional buyers left. They also need to make supply battles the option and non-supply battles the default. If buyers want supply battles they can pay for them. If you look at ProT 90% of the battles are pro battles with supplies off. Fair battels are more fun for everyone and also a persons skill counts more then the size of their wallet. Sometimes simple is better.

Tanki Classic is oriented to be like a museum-type project to come back after a lot of years and experience those great moments again, when you know that anyone or anything will not take that away from you. But, for every project to continue living, players can donate some bucks so this project and experience can lengthen and live for them longer (and also everyone else, but despite, premium users will play the game more uniqely with features that premium provide). But we need to take a look at project at release of it first.
