It would make sense to me if tak renon established the AI that runs the planet. He would eliminate the human or living element in charge, utilize one of their ships, and the AI would treat him like he belonged and he could come and go as he pleased. Having a person as the supervisor would certainly lead to his capture as they would easily see they were being plundered.

Jod is a complicated character. First, if he was trained as a Jedi, then abandoned by the Order, Jod had to become something else. Becoming a pirate makes sense as they operate OUTSIDE of the Republic. Next, he is a pirate. The Pirate Code requires mutineers be EXECUTED for mutiny. That’s the code. To gain respect with his crew, what happened was necessary. Next, if he was evil, the children would have been killed or sold from the beginning. But with children, they only obey when they are scared. Corporal punishment has been the way of social order, and pirate order, for millions of years. What happens next will be revealed when the “Supervisor” appears. As for Jod, he now has all the credits he could ever need to control. But he also probably knows he cannot trust others with that kind of treasure. So my guess is he will have to ensure those he trusts follow his commands. Again, the “Supervisor” will determine the next direction to formulate his next step. But children are unconventional and do not always do what they are told to do. There is the UNKNOWN rub.

Great analysis and I agree on the Supervisor being the key to everything. He, or more than likely the AI that runs the Supervisor, may be more dangerous than Jod himself.

We actually covered the murals way back in the premiere. They definitely have some meeting. Only reflect the species that live on the planet and they always seem to be praising or worshipping something or someone.

Jod isn't exactly a expert on planetary archeology. Neither are the pirates, considering that his friend the owl alien considered At Atten a jewel of the old republic and actually had paper maps that detailed its existence, and it was considered a legend and almost fairy tale indicates its existence being lost to the galactic civilization for some time. At Atten hasn't been lost for several hundred years, its been lost for several thousand. That's because we know the Republic that we see in the Skywalker Saga before its fall is at least 1000 years old and that its decent to its fall began when it was considered in its high republic era, about 500 years before the battle of Yavin, and the High Republic was still exploring space especially areas that was lost after the fall of the old republic. It would be difficult to explain how a expanding government lost what would have been the most valuable worlds of its economy during the 1000 years, unless, said government itself never knew of the worlds as well. More indication that these worlds were indeed the jewels of the Old Republic from thousands of years earlier is the currency itself. The material used for them is apparently extremely rare and valuable, enough that even one is considered a treasured find. During the late stages of the end of the Republic we know that republic credits were not that valuable to be traded in some parts of the outer rim with them either being traded for currency that was valuable in the area or goods that were valuable enough to be traded. Sure the credits might have had some historical value after the Empire emerges but its doubtful it would have been that much but they likely would have been turned into Imperial credits and still had the same value, although it would have been easier to use considering those that likely refused ended up potentially getting a visit by a imperial squad or planet or city getting glassed. This would have carried over with the New Republic credits as well. Old Republic credits however would be very different. A single cart likely could setup a person for life along with any descendants he or she hard, A shipment in a small starship like the Onyx Cinder likely could buy a world, the frigate the pirates have could carry several thousand tons at least could buy a fully developed world and perhaps some orbital yards and fleet to go with it. A cruiser twice its size able to carry more..... Probably could buy a system.. Yeah this world is not high republic or republic, Its from the Old Republic of thousands of years earlier. Likely lost during its eventual fall from countless wars and issues. I think this world is going to be very important down the line as its wealth could be used for great things. Likely not from the New Republic who likely would fumble the world and its treasure treating it as a novelty or banning it from the galactic market due to the literal economic disaster it would cause. The Empire however, it would be a saving grace to them.

Yeah he seemed a bit softer back then, but now that he's seen the gold, I'm not sure he can turn his greed off. If he is redeemed it'll be in death I think.

I don't believe those vaults are the treasure. Previously on the acid bath planet there was a discussion about the value of life vs gold or something like that, and I think we'll find out the treasure is something that pirates wouldn't value at all.
