Where Im from brick is used as outlayer of a house,first goes the blocks,and then the styrofoam as insolation,on the bottom a layer of rubber is used then scorched and glued to the wall to make it waterproof. After styrofoam and a little gap bricks are used to seal it. Thats how insulation is done here

Maybe difficult as you need at least nvq level 2 (2 years ) to work on site plus health and safety test certificate. Not as easy as just come and start bricklaying. First you need tools.

It’s simple if you have room in your garden , you just need a plank of wood that you can level and wide enough to hold a brick or 100mm block . Get some cheap bricks enough for 6 bricks long and 8-10 high if you want, so your not bent down the whole time do 2 courses of block ( just use thermilites ) , then just lay on top . Get some cheap sand and a bag of hydrated lime don’t use cement and away you go . The beauty of this is you can take it down and reuse everything as many times as you want , obviously you will need some tools . If your in the uk and need a trowel I have a modified ox trowel that I don’t use which you can have , just let me know .
