More Caboolture River improvements with Unitywater’s latest and largest riverbank rehab site

Our largest riverbank rehabilitation project is now in full swing, with stabilisation and revegetation work underway along 2.4km of the lower Caboolture River.
This $8 million project will help prevent riverbank erosion, protect local wildlife habitats, and reduce the amount of nutrients entering the river - all while supporting a healthy local environment. 🌱
Here’s what we’re doing:
✔️ Moving 6,809 cubic meters of soil to stabilise the bank
✔️ Installing 84 log structures to protect against waves and boat wake
✔️ Planting 220 mangrove seeds and 8,000 native plants to keep the bank strong
This site alone will prevent 430kg of nutrients from entering the river each year!
