It’s a little different with a guy whose primary responsibility is protecting the QB. I don’t want to see a guy like Cutlets, who holds onto the ball longer than any other QB in the league, get hurt because we “tried out” a guy we already know is at least a partial bust. I’m not quite sure what the answer is, but opening up our blind side definitely doesn’t seem like a good idea.

@@Thekidyusuke because we are especially weak at the outside corner position. Banks has been a huge disappointment and Flott has been solid but nothing special. I’m not saying to move Phillips permanently to the outside but just give him more snaps than usual at that position. Who knows? We may have a potential shutdown corner in the making. At this point in the season, it wouldn’t hurt to see what he can do.

Just think, they could’ve used that $5 to go towards Barkleys contract. I honestly think Tommy Devito has more potential than Lock & didn’t understand why they brought Lock in. Sometimes I wonder if Daboll would be better off with a different GM. Joe did well this year in the draft, and Burns was a good choice, glad he got a few more OL, but the last two years the draft picks were terrible. I say we let all of the young guys play more so they can be assessed. I am looking forward to seeing Tommy play. He may not have the same physical skills and talent that DJ has, but he’s far more confident and hasn’t been shell shocked yet like DJ has.

@@quinnbeckles9286 I get what you're saying, but the season is lost and we need to look towards the future IMO. We've seen what Slayton can do, he's good but doesn't have a high ceiling which he may have already reached, and he's not going to take a team friendly contract next season like he did when he re-signed with us. I believe Hyatt hasn't gotten the opportunities because Slayton has just been good enough. We have Hyatt for another 2 years on a rookie contract and moving on from Slayton will help the rebuild in other areas during FA. We'll take another receiver in the draft somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd
