In the 1930s there were some non-secret codes for telegrams for various purposes, such as booking hotel rooms. Has the bank robbery cryptogram been checked against a collection of such codes to see if the person was simply sending an open but obscure message related to his daily activities (criminal or otherwise). A major clue would be the metadata whom was it sent to and what code systems did they use.

Anyways, I sought out this looking for codes like enigma and tunny that were unsolved and all I got was some useless single message mysteries of little value to the research in cryptology,

The method does not work on the Dorabella cryptogram because it does not require further decipherment/ decoding. Ears to mock n pique/ pick U .."EARSTMOCKNPQU." EARS TO MOCK AND PICK YOU
