We bought an old 8400 just to pull around a cotton module builder and as a backup tillage tractor. Spent many of hour inside the ole gal... Farm went belly up in 2015 and the farmer who bought it still runs it along with his fleet of 8rs

10 or 12 years ago I went from a very healthy 12,000 hour 4640 to a 8000 hour 8200 mfwd. Been very good to me. I liked the 4640, but no comparison. The 8200 is my main row crop horse and gets used all summer. Has 11,500 hrs now.

One of the great ones. I loved my Sound Guard tractors. We had 3 of them. 4440,4450, and 4955. But in my opinion John Deere hit their high water mark from 1995-2010 with the 8000 series and the first generation R series. The first generation 8295R is really nothing but a leftover 8330. Just my opinion, but they started downhill after 2011 with the DEF and all the re-gen crap.
