I love watching your videos , Christine , you’re so natural . You made me laugh when you were trying to find your die and it was where you’d put it so you wouldn’t loose it . I have multiple sclerosis and my short term memory is shot to pieces . I dread to think what it’ll be like when I get older but you chuckling about it made me think I shouldn’t get so upset when it happens to me on an almost hourly basis . Anyway I love this idea with the double sided tape . I’ve recently bought 4 guilding flake pots of mixes including gold/black and gold/red . Dying to try this . I especially love how you’ve provided lots of ideas on how I can used guilding flakes and indigo blue powders as I love the look of them but never knew how to use them .

Lol. It’s actually the little blue men. There’s a Stephen King episode from The Twilight Zone TV series, called “A matter of minutes” where we learn that little blue men set up every minute ages in advance, like a stage set. Even though they have lists of items to place & where to place them, every now & then they forget something. And we look & look for it & then it just turns up in a different minute when they slip it back where it was supposed to be. So... it’s not memory, it might be elves, but it also might be the little blue men 🧐😁

My crafty friend and I contend it isn’t our short term memory, our congested work area, nay, not even poor organization that causes us to loose what we’d just been using. Rather, it’s pesky little elves that come along when we’re glancing aside, that come and steal our treasures. Couldn’t possibly be us who are responsible!! I’m sure the same might be true for you. Lovely card, as usual…..many thanks 🙏🏼

That's a great idea using double sided tape, it gives such precise edges, and this is a super card design. I hope to use up some of my trimmings from Stick It sheets too. I've also tried using a nylon kitchen scourer/sponge to stick & burnish and it works perfectly, with the added bonus of the sponge for soft burnishing once the flakes are down. I did get tiny white spots where the adhesive wasn't too clever especially after using the embossing folder so now use brown cardstock as a base which has totally fixed the problem when using variegated flakes. Thank you so much for your inspiring tutorials, and learning along with you how to deal with "sandwich" challenges :)

Hi. Thank you for sharing your skills, this card is so elegant that you'd never think something like that could be done so speedily and easily. Whenever I've used gilding flakes before it has always been with twin stick. It's quick and clean which is always a plus. I read in the comments - I think it was yesterday - that someone found that the 'rubit scrubit' pad from Ranger works well on gilding flakes and that was great to hear as I had already ordered one of those, while being pricier than the scoochy it is bigger and can be cut into smaller pieces. It arrived about half an hour ago so I'll let you know how I get on with that as there's only one way to find out. 😃 Thanks again for a wonderful video tutorial for a really super card and sorry for rambling on.

Hi Christine, I enjoy watching your videos! Just a suggestion but I am wondering if it would work to wear your watch on the opposite wrist during the filming of the video? The stem on the watch would be less apt to get bumped.

Christine, your creative ideas continue to be amazing. Thank you so much! Business question for you... if I were to open an Etsy shop to sell cards using your designs with a slight variation AND add your name as design credit on the back of each card, would that violate copyright rules or be upsetting to you? Hi Jordan I am flattered that you would want to use my designs and appreciate that you would acknowledge the source of your inspiration in each card. My only concern is whether anything I have used is for personal use only and not to be used commercially. I wouldn’t want to fall into that trap as the majority of my cards are for personal use. Hello Christine. I saw your tutorials on gilding flakes and saw all your beautiful cards. I went out and bought gilding flakes, used them and found that when I slide my hand across the card I get sparkles on my hand, is this normal? I tried the brush to take the sparkles off but to no avail. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you.
@Chrissieannie2 жыл бұрын
If you burnish the flakes well, there shouldn't be any transfer of twinkle! If you are talking about transfer to your hands during the process, it is likely that you will get some on your hands as the flakes are extremely thin and light and will temporarily stick to the oils in your skin. A scoochy is the best tool for burnishing the flakes in my experience. I hope this answers your query! ♥️
