What is the use of the wire mesh? Could you leave it out? I saw someone using a wire mesh with a net on top of the wire mesh. There were some spacer blocks below the wire mesh to raise the mesh above the floor and allow the liquid to flow below the wire mesh. The wire mesh served as a support for the netting. All this was done as an alternative to the porous slab, so the feaces fell onto the netting, and the liquid passed through the net and the mesh.

The use of the wire mesh has the weakness of corroding with time that calls for regular maintenances to be done. The improved one is the use of porous slabs to enhance filtration and also increase the lifespan and maintenance durations. I hope there clarity in my answer to your question ❓ thank you

It is not necessary. But the purpose was to aid in lifting the compost during maintenance. The lasting effect of the improved one with the porous slabs will make wean away with time. This is the reason why I have discarded the wire mesh. My point of view ​@@kobmohan647

As long as 10 to 15 and even more depending on the consumption before maintenance is done if it done well.

Forget about the chemical and save cost for yourself Bro. All you need is to be critical about the internal sloping in the digestor and extending the trench with holes in the 4" or 3" pipe drilled below to the soak hole. And rather, use coconut fiber not P.O.P fiber
