Decided to try something different this week and returned to the river without my detector to look for arrowheads with my sister. Found a nice arrowhead and some other small tools. There's also a clip from last year where I show exactly what I look for when searching the riverbanks for artifacts and new sites.
Thanks for watching, and if you've enjoyed the video, please hit the like button and consider subscribing, I appreciate the support!

Thank you! I'm mostly doing metal detecting videos, but I do have plans to get down to the river more this year looking for Native American artifacts, as long as the river cooperates. Last year it stayed too high to look for much. More to come, stay tuned, and thanks for watching!

Good morning. I just wanted to say hello and thank you for your videos. I was born and raised in Kingston, PA and I really miss my walks along the Susquehanna looking for artifacts in my younger days. Having been in the USAF for 20 years, I settled in Florida where I still hunt artifacts. Your videos remind me of the points, net sinkers, pestles, etc. That I found along the river, mostly from Forty Fort to Plymouth. Please keep making your videos. I enjoy them very much. Thanks,. John.

Thank you John, and thank you for your service! I mostly search the river banks, sometimes some farmed fields. Since I have gotten into metal detecting, I don't get out as much as I'd like to on the river. Hopefully, gonna try and get down there some more this season. I grew up fishing the river all around Pittston, Harding, and Tunkhannock areas, started looking for artifacts when I was in my teens. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, hope it gives you a little taste of home..😎 Good luck and take care!

Hi there! I live in Wyoming County and I'm new to searching for arrowheads/geology. I have access to private farm land and several properties along the Susquehanna. I really appreciate your video

Hi Wendy, thanks for watching and commenting! I have been up that way quite a bit, both metal detecting and looking for arrowheads. There's lots of history in Wyoming County for sure. Have you had any luck yet finding anything? Farmed fields are great to walk because if there is anything there, stuff gets washed off and lays out in the open. I do walk some fields, but I probably look more on the riverbanks for the most part. Most of my videos have been on metal detecting, but I have a few more arrowhead videos if you look through them. My email is on my "About" page on here, feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or need help identifying things, always happy to help out. Thanks again, and good luck!

That's great, glad you're finding stuff! I haven't been down to the river in awhile, with all the rain we've had here, the water has been higher than normal this summer. I'm hoping it will go down in the fall enough to get some looking in. Thanks for watching and good luck!!

@nepahistoryandarchaeologys8623 I haven't been out looking for about 10 years and your videos sparked the curiosity in me again. I look primarily in corn fields but I am definitely gonna be checking out the conemaugh river now. Thanks alot for the confidence builder!

Thanks for watching! I watched a video on your channel, I'm from the same area. You're right, access areas are dwindling. I have an app on my phone that shows me property owners, so sometimes you can find little areas that have access without worrying about trespassing, or you can find out who owns a property and ask for permission. Thanks again, good luck!

There is a lot that has come out of there over the years. I'm sure if I sift it there would be a lot more. Every time the river goes up and down there is something new to look at. Thanks for watching, good luck on your next hunt as well!

Where are you from Hannah? I usually do not give out my site locations, but I have occasionally taken people with me to show them how I search for sites and artifacts. Depends on the situation and how well I know the person. But it's not out of the question.

most all of them stones are artifacts.....your just looking for flint

Yes, sometimes artifacts are made from the river stones, such as net weights, hammer stones, pitted stones, etc. But they are scattered among the ordinary river cobbles. Not every stone with an odd shape is a Native American artifact..

@@nepahistoryandarchaeologys8623thats it also do the research on the things you see and when you get your answers for them then you have what you REALLY have and that is .... Ancient Asian Indian Artifacts from Thailand to be xact and other places depending on the image and they are NOT effigies. It has nothing at all to do with American Indians at all but everything to do with hindu monks.

Really love your videos. I found my first Indian Arrowhead yesterday along the Susquehanna. I have been looking for years and felt like giving up at times. No clue how old it is and it is missing a small piece of point and a little bit of an ear but I don't care because I finally did it! I wish you continued success!
